Didn't realise last time we played them was when they went up and we had the kids out... except,we didn't really.

Remember us singing "How shit must you be, we beat you with kids"
Definitely a second string team though with the Hull FA Cup semi coming up - no Brayford, Coady, Murphy, Collins, Flynn, Doyle, Howard, Scougall who all started at Wembley. I guess "how shit must you be, we beat you with reserves" doesn't scan so well :)

April 8th 2014. Clough was our manager, we won 1-0 with a 90th minute pen. (Ben Davies). Teams. The 'kids' comment was about us 'not showing Rotherham respect' and came from their gobshite manager Steve Evans.

Used to have a soft spot for them, until they turned up all billy big bollocks "we're the best team in South Yorkshire" when they had a sniff of glory that came as we hit a real low point, they quickly forgot about us lending them players for free and us fans filling up collection buckets.

Hope we smash them all over
It’d rather them be like that. Can’t expect them to act ever so grateful forever more. Adds a bit of spice, they’re local rivals and want to do better than us.

Just to clear things up, how long do Rotherham need to remain grateful to us? Are they obliged to roll over when we play them as part of the deal?

Yes we lent them a player to get them back on their feet. A long time ago. They’ve progressed a lot since then. Footballs meant to be competitive.

I remember having to "wag it" off school to go during the daytime for a midweek game at Millmoor because they hadn't got/couldn't afford floodlights. I can also remember sharing some space behind the goal with a railway signal and wondering when the next train would be coming through and how I might avoid it. The game itself was utterly forgettable as they defended manfully to hold out for a bore draw. I hope they don't give us as much respect as those Scaredicats from Swillsbo-rough-house!!

Remember going to see Rotherham on a Friday night at Millmoor in the late 80s when they were experimenting with playing home games on a Friday evening. It was an experiment to avoid clashing with the Sheffield clubs home games on a Saturday that lasted a couple of months, Tranmere tried it as well.

Friday night games were practically unheard of at that time so it was a bit of a novelty. The experiment didn’t really work as that evening Rotherham were playing Darlington and a major crash on the A1 in rush hour meant only 1 (one) Darlington was in the away end.

Inevitably Darlington won one nil.

Ungreatfull bastards with very short memories, the fans shame the club at every opportunity.

Just like Chesterfield, Doncaster and Barnsley, only chat shit when on par or above us, begging bowls are out when the gambles stop paying off and their broke..

Nice though to walk through a town where shell suits are still worn with pride by whole families.

Shell suits haven't caught on in worksop yet, going to be the next big thing next summer, 20 years behind Rovrum in the fashion stakes, shoulder pads are still in though

Thanks Roy, decent comments in the main one or two apart. Always had a soft spot for Rovrum, once played at Millmoor & what a lovely surface, know a few of their supporters, all piggy haters too so all good.

I like Rotherham.

That dude on about the L1 game though. That was when Baxter scored and we lost 3-1. God we were awful that day, we had David fucking Weir in charge. If he thinks we passed it well that day, he's in for a treat Saturday.

I'm going for a score draw. They're good at home.

(2nd comment too :))
Major lowpoint in my 50 years watching Utd ,I knew that day that weir was hopeless ,when Howard as ordered to role the ball out to Maguire in the 89th minute for him to give it away at 3-1 down. Then I went to see Leonard Cohen in concert ,happy day that was despite him being brilliant.

Cheers Panchero!

Anyone got any tips on where to park?, usually go on the train but heard there may be some disruption/cancellations tomorrow

You're being put off going on the train because of possible disruptions? It's only a 10 minute train ride mate! It's not like you're going to Penzance or summat. Gerron't train wi thi! And don't worry about where to park it. Last time I went on 't train to Rotherham the train driver parked it for me.

This is exactly the kind of game we would have let our performance drop a few levels last season

All these championship teams know how to play us these days, its too predictable. Let sheff u have the ball and let the back 3 overlap and let their midfield get too advanced then hit em quick on the break for a 2 against 2.

If we lose the ball let the utd back 3 have it and we'll all be back in position and in a solid formation before the ball ever gets near our box.

Repeat until 70 minutes when they are knackered from all that fruitless running round then put on a couple of fresh subs and go for em.

That must be why we are bottom of the league then

I agree with the general sentiment on here.

Expect us to win, but have no ill feeling towards the Millers.
