Segregation

There's been a discussion about segregation at the Lane on a football grounds group on Facebook. We aren't alone apparently, old firm have about 2k unsold seats and plenty of other high profile games lead to the closure of over 1k seats

Maybe in Manchester they don't have cowardly cunts who want to spend the entire game swearing at and offering out people that they have no chance or intention of getting near, not to mention throwing cups of piss onto. That said, Bramall Lane (and Leppings Lane) affords perfect segregation without the need to restrict seating.

Happens everywhere but Sheffield, even the Old Firm manage with a line of stewards to segregate thousands of pissed up sectarian twats. SYP are just cowardly incompetent cunts.

After Hillsborough in 1989, SYPD prefer reaction to proaction. Keeps the 'top brass' in their fucking Masonic lodges.

Oh I'm sure they do but the Mancs - like those lovable mop-tops in Scouseland - are above all criticism. Can you imagine a coach carrying the away team on its way to a match in Sheffield getting bricked, flared etc. (all after the police and Liverpool FC published their route) getting away with it?

Maybe if they had the opportunity of getting at each other they may just shut the fuck up instead of the massive display of bravado with the police protection in place.

As I have said before we could do with a more "official " explanation on who is to blame or responsible for the amount of segregation and exactly how long it is for, Danny 04 must surely be able to find something out, could even be a good article for him in the Star, Danny?

When did the Sheffield by law get changed to allow fans to be held back on the BL Lower?

NB I know it didn't exist but it was the BS reason given by an SYP representative at an FSF meeting a few years ago when asked why away fans weren't held back for a while.

Segregation !

Yeah right, only Sheffield fans misbehave then, good logical answer.
Do you work for the safety committee or SYP ?

Erm, no, that's not quite what I said. In fact, it's not what I said at all if you care to read it properly. I don't advocate any seats being netted off at either Sheffield ground as I don't think there is a need. I imagine that the seats at the front of BLUT were not available in recent Derbies, due to previous nob head behaviour. I would be interested to see a single line of stewards between Utd and Weds fans like I saw at the Etihad yesterday. I'm not saying that there was not trouble there but for some reason , they seem to think it's an acceptable way of separating fans. Would that work in Sheffield?

To bracket every member of SYP as 'incompetent, cowardly cunts', is a bit like calling all football fans, piss throwing, knuckle dragging Neanderthals. I cannot say for certain and have no research to call on, but I think neither is accurate. But it's easy to hop on your high horse and point the finger.

In Manchester, Glasgow, Liverpool, Birmingham and London they have cowardly cunts that wave their arms at each other and pretend to offer each other out behind a line of stewards and police.
That's just the point, they're behind a line of police and stewards.
The same thing would work in Sheffield, it's no different to anywhere else.
Every seat is now available to view on CCTV, and every person sat in a seat is known to their club.
The need for vast areas of empty seats is ridiculous and very 1980's, so I suppose Sheffield is just keeping with it's times

I’d be quite happy if there’s no away fans at each Sheffield derby going forward, 3000 tickets only getting allocated for both games and then the whole event is completely spoiled by overpoilicing and overkill regarding segregation, not to mention costs and then the police treat us all like shit.

I’m starting to hate the police because they clearly “got off” on last fridays colditz like operation..

What do the pig fans actually bring to the occasion anyway? apart from a fat cunt desperately trying to get on match of the day like a child from the 70s..

I’ll bet they do.

How does that work when large groups choose to stand in aisles and gangways, nowhere near the seats they've been allocated?

Everywhere has the same problem, it's not just a Sheffield thing
Much bigger crowds and much more volatile crowds are controlled quite adequately elsewhere

WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?

Classically trained actorrrrrrr, my dear boy. Played dozens of famous characters. King Lear, Augustus, Grampy Rabbit...

I do love how easy it is to comment on the roles and responsibility of someone else's job without being able to do it yourself.
