It was music to my ears when Jos luhacky said he's been involved in bigger derbies

He also said the words "Sheffield United will win". His English is that bad I don't think you can take much notice of anything he said yesterday

I can't actually beleive he's said this.

As a denizen of Berlin for several years, including the period when Luhukay was involved in this MASSIVE 'derby', I can honestly call bullshit.

Hertha and Union are from the west and east respectively. The fans live seperately for the most part miles away from each other. The only comparison I can think of is Fulham West Ham.

Not to mention the older generations used to wear each others scarves and sing each others songs until the 90s as they had fraternal relations during the division of the city. Nowt like the hatred in Sheffield which has grown over decades.

Hertha in general has a wank atmosphere cos theyre in a MASSIVE former olympic stadium which means sound escapes straight out. Most of their fans admit this and actually want to move to a smaller square stadium.

It's good to know he's just as much of a delusional self aggrandising cunt as the rest of the pig fans.

I have no doubts their are bigger derbies Barca v Real Madrid. Man city v Man Utd, Celtic v Rangers, Liverpool v Everton, Arsenal v Tottenham. but hes got to know his audience & nothing is bigger to us. sounds like disasterous bryan robson quote 11 years ago

All the ones you quote play each other every five fucking minutes.
Us and the pigs don't meet each other as often as we should and the animosity is arguably more visceral than any of them bar the sweaties.

I may be blinkered, but for me this is the biggest derby.

I may be blinkered, but for me this is the biggest derby.

In Britain, i'd say this one. Liverpool - Everton, Birmingham - Villa & Celtic Rangers only ones that come close.

Man U are more bothered about Liverpool. Forest more bothered about Us and Derby than Notts C. What others are there? Bristol don't have one. Leeds, Newcastle, Derby, Sunderland etc. don't share a city so for me,they're not even derbies.

Man U - Liverpool is a fierce rivalry as is Barca - Real, but again, they're not derbies, they are big rivalries due to their successes. We have now got a rivalry with West Ham, and randolmly Norwich and Bolton , but they're just that - rivalries.

A derby is two clubs from the same city !

Do any of these other "derbies" have Sky era (un)inspired names like our Steel City Derby? For the record I'm with Wilder on this, it's the "Sheffield derby".

Celtic/Rangers - The Old Firm
Liverpool/Everton - Mersey derby

The rest I guess are pretty standard unless Forest/County,which doesn't happen very often, is locally known as The Terence.

By the looks of him he's probably right, maybe he served drinks in one of the boxes during a Milan derby game ;)

There are bigger derbies. But he’s not managed in them.

I’ve been to Hertha and I thought it was a cracking atmosphere. Ale at your seat as well!

Sheffield derby in terms of rivalry is more than the Birmingham, Manchester and Liverpool derbies. The latter two are more bothered about the Liverpool - Manchester rivalry and the former is for the main part unbalanced between a huge club in Villa and a much smaller club in Birmingham. Whereas the Sheffield derby is between two equal sized clubs and their is no other rivalry that either club is bothered about.

In my view only the Tyne and Wear derby has the most intense rivalry and they are many mixed communities up there, even though to two clubs are 8 miles apart. But after that the Sheffield derby is the next biggest for me in terms of rivalry. The North London derby isn't as intense and again their fans come from all over the South and beyond - glory fans.

I would say the Bristol derby rarely gets a mention but those two clubs have a much higher rivalry than people realise, but as with the Birmingham derby one club is much bigger than the other which means they rarely meet and City look down on Rovers, as small fry.

Liverpool-Everton have a "neutral area" in the stadium when they play ffs. They're too busy patting each other on the back for being scouse for it to be a proper derby. Brum-Villa is a good shout, Rangers-Celtic obviously. Other than that I struggle to think of a local derby that even comes close in this country.

I'm sorry but I simply can't let this go. "The Terence" - that's just bloody genius! Take a bow sir! :D
