Wednesday fans gloating

Not lost on you then either?

Piss taking our attendances for years despite Hillsborough games being covered by Sky then you go and get the lowest derby attendance in years

26,000 Blades there yesterday despite it being Friday night on Sky - 2,000 more home fans than you lot managed at the Sty last season. We've got more fans, a better ground, more derby wins & more points. Get over it.

I sit gangway H and the whole block barely stopped singing, I only heard the piggys when the greasy chip butty song came on. That's how loud the boys around us were.

This is the reason why I adore United, when we lose we take it on the chin and say where we fooked up, a wednesday fan being the knuckle draggers the majority of you are, you have to whinge and still think you are the big I am.....

WE got our points, YOU showed yourselfs up by doing what you did to Ward. Class is something the owls can never have, success yes, but class hell no.

Hang on...we're averaging more per game without the need to sell out the entire away allocation to get a decent crowd, you datal get.Take away your "massive support" yesterday night, and there were still 26-27000 Blades. If it hadn't been for Forest and Barnsley selling out their allocations, you'd have ended up with 21-23000 tops - which was proven when you played the likes of Scunny.

Last night, who didn't sell their allocation? It was a team that play on a patch of grass near a park in S6. Now,here,I'll give you a clue - it's not Winn Gardens,Parson Cross Working Mens Club,or Middlewood Juniors....

Our average is currently the 3rd highest in the league after 4 home games - you are 4th.

Newcastle 39887
Derby County 28811
Sheffield Utd 26271

Last year,it was the 2nd highest - 26023
SWFC - 21541 (6th)

The year before we were the best supported team outside of the Premiership - 25630
SWFC - 21418 (8th)

It means that the 21000 average will never change - it will always stay the same.

At the end of the day,you must be reminded - you're not massive anymore. Look on the pitch - there's no DiCanio and Carbone;just a set of journeymen. You play in a tired, crumbling ground, and have a chairman whose ambition far outstrips his ability -he may talk a good game but has done nothing to prove his worth.Ours just gets on with it.You may have a manager that wears a suit on the touchline, but most pigs can only signify the wearing of a suit with a court appearance.

Finally the league tables don't lie,do they,son?

When you look at the percentages of each ground's capacity that's sold the figures make even worse reading for Wendy.
Taken from http://itv.stats.football365.com/dom/ENG/D1/attend.html it shows that we sell on average 80.5% of our capacity, putting us in fourth place in the division, behind Cardiff, Blackpool and Derby.

And where are Wednesday? Massive Wednesday, with such a great ground and such loyal, terrific fans? This season they are 19th out of 24, with a massive 61.4% of their capacity sold. This means, for the benefit of the Wendy fans who were bunking off school shoplifting from Netto instead of learning anything, more than a third of the ground is empty.
As in "they're here, they're there, they're every fucking where, empty seats, empty seats..."
Even allowing for the bits of their ground that are unsafe this is, for such a massive club, quite frankly piss-poor in the extreme.

Unless of course the "massive club" stuff is, like most of the noises coming from the pigs today, just more bollocks? Why yes, I rather think it is......

Massive support is them that stay no matter what....Look at Leeds, I hate the buggers, but no one can fault the support. Wednesday were big back in the day, and nowadays can never get that kind back due to them having no success in a very very long time....Fickle...they won't accept this, so sling mud at us instead.

Should look at their own support and ailing club before knocking ours....Oh and Strapon is still trying to knob our Businessmen as they know how to be successful. Where as he as always, is all talk no trousers.....hated working with him years ago. All talk and always will be.

the days of wednesday being a big club are long gone
even in the season they finished 3rd and got to 2 cup finals theyre average was only 28k

never been big

only club in sheffield to average over 30k in the last 35 years is united and united

Only club in Sheffield to EVER average 40k+ is Wednesday.

Let's not argue about the past, because it will get embarrassing for you

Let's not argue about the present then, because if we do then your argument will be well and truly fucked.

We have the past and future, we'll let you have the present. For now.

You couldn't even average over 30k in your most recent 10+ years in the top flight, even when you qualified for Europe. We averaged over 30k in one season in the top flight under Warnock despite relegation.

Embarassing past? What like one league double in 96 years compared to our eight during the same period?

We have the past and future, we'll let you have the present. For now.

How have you got the future? What delights will the future bring? I've no idea, otherwise I'd be winning the lottery every week. So, Mystic Meg, look into your crystal ball and tell me just how Wednesday's future will be so good? Because your shaved monkey of a chairman said so? I wouldn't trust that slippery fucker if he told me it was dark outside at midnight, and it's not looking too promising at the moment, is it?

But please, elucidate. And be precise.

this argument goes round and round like a spinning top. Just look at the league averages for those seasons, i think we're about 12% above the average, you were about 30% below it.

but face it, that's all you've got to brag about isn't it, your derby record?
.......
.........

TBH, we seemed very loud and you seemed quiet.

Maybe we just couldn't hear each other. Even at 3-0 it seemed we were out singing you.

Got to say I couldn't hear you at all. But that's not unusual, because the kop was loud, and when it's loud you can never hear the opposing supporters.

The kop also sounded loud on the replayed radio coverage that I heard in the car on the way home.

Our chairman has been here for just nine months, and we are just six months into our new three year business plan -

Have a good read.

Or just continue to be ignorant and dismiss it as all hot air.

But above all the relationship with the fans being re-built is worthy of us praising Strafford to the hilt alone. For him to have done this and more is beyond our wildest dreams.

Tell me, When were wednesday in the premership last? I think that's a great indicator of the recent past dont you? Tell me...When were Utd last in what is now League One?

Try as you might with the spin your team lost last night and that hurts. Now go off to Market!

Can we keep it on topic please and not meander into repeats of the same arguments already contained within the General Football & Sport forum?

This is a thread discussing last night's game.

Wednesday have got "the future"? It would be interesting to know the average ages of both squads last night.

Wednesday outsung United. Take your red-tinted specs off. Didn't hear a peep from you in the second half.

????? there aren't really any words capable of giving that the reply it deserves.

.......
.........

All we have to brag about? Well, there's also the fact that we have more fans than you, a better ground, a more stable club, a chairman who doesn't come across as a comblete nob....oh and more points, obviously.:D

But it will never get quite as embarrassing as posting five (yes five) consecutive sub 9,000 league attendances, will it? ;)

But, to be honest I think in general, given the many low points both clubs have hit over the years, the attendances of both have held up quite well.

Or averaging sub 10,000 over the course of a league season ;)

Although we have been as low as the fourth division, to date we have actually spent less time outside of the top two divisions than Wednesday.

All we have to brag about? Well, there's also the fact that we have more fans than you, a better ground, a more stable club, a chairman who doesn't come across as a comblete nob....oh and more points, obviously.:D
All those points are up for dispute.

All those points are up for dispute.

The only one that's up for dispute is the one about Strafford. He's not a comblete nob. He is, however, a complete one. So that's the record set straight. And how can you dispute the fact that we have more points than you? We've got fifteen, you've got nine. So gloat about that if you like.

All those points are up for dispute.

We have averaged more fans than you this season & the last three. Fact. Our ground isn't a rusting sh!thole that we have to beg our fans to paint. Fact. Our finances are solid & don't depend on a laughable business plan that reads like it was written by a 5 year old. Fact. Strapon isn't our Chairman. Fact. Even you can't dispute we have more points. Fact.:D

Or averaging sub 10,000 over the course of a league season ;)

You still never answered my original question....what has happened to your dwindling crowd numbers, if you are faithful and such a massive club.

Yesterday I didn't hear the loudness that I have from 10 years ago.

You can argue the toss about last night been this and that, and how you don't wish to talk about the past, but think about some of the things you have said....talking about our past.

We have the better future as proved last night, because we have success OFF the pitch, which your chairman cannot achieve by himself. How do I know this? Because when he was at plusnet he was never the brains behind most of the money making....he's clueless and spins stories.

So the future looks bright for United and rightly so, as for years we lived in your shadow.

So with the crap Leeds have been through, why is it their fans stay loyal, but the faithful massive of the "Owls" cannot do so?
