We’ve just scored 4, Billy’s bagged a hattrick, beat another good side and we’re top of the league. Again.

Why the fuck are people flooding out the gangways 10 minutes before the whistle?

Unless 4 thousand people just got their houses robbed and have to rush home, I fail to see how taking 30 seconds of your time to support the team that just took us to the top is a massive inconvenience to you.

It baffles me, it’s not hard to wait a minute after the game and clap the players. It takes more energy to walk up flights of stairs to the exit.

It’s cringeworthy, and an embarrasment to the club.

It’s widespread throughout football now, too many consumers, ever fewer real fanatics.

Pussywhipped. Got to get home because they have had their little bit of fun for the week and need to get home so Gert can go out with " The Girls " tonight .

Its epidemic with our support, flooding out with 5 minutes to go no matter the score.

Top of the league and only 24,000 today. Not great support this season.

I never leave matches early because im a cheap bastard who wants to get the most value out of his ticket. (Aside from the odd midweek away match concerning last trains)

But honestly i get it, 5/10 minutes might not seem a lot, but in that 10minutes eldery and people with families can get out without thousands of overs crowding round them.

Don't get this nonsense that just because you stay for 5 minutes longer you're a "bigger" blade

I've never understood it. Sure, if we're 5.0 down to the worst team in the league, it's freezing cold and chucking it down, by all means leave 5 minutes early. otherwise, no.

Left because I'm unlucky if I watch, had a headache anyway, needed to sober up, have a lie down after two baltis and a bovril, needed to put a bet on, wash my hair for tonight, have a shave, feed the cats, usual stuff.

Don’t you think the players and manager might look to the stands and think “what the fuck”? Especially when 1 goal would make all the difference.

The meaning of “support” is completely changing, sadly.

Season ticket sales determines the attendance figures more and more nowadays
Hardly anyone buys tickets for the games individually. Over and above the 5000 or so that usually do it that way hardly anybody else does.
As well as it being easier to get into Fort Knox and the launch room in the Kremlin than a football stadium

To get season tickets sales up the club has to impress the fans during the summer, and United didn't.
Regardless of how things are turning out, visitors, exiles and those without season tickets find it more trouble than it's worth

Atmosphere is shite at home too.

Lots of people on here said it’d improve when performances did....well, performances have improved. No sign of the atmosphere improving. Bullshit off the pitch at home.

We hardly ever boo at half-time or full-time any more. What more do you want?

Yes, we all know off these mythical beings who absolutely MUST leave early take care of their disabled pet hamsters.

90% of them are lazy fuckers who don’t appreciate their team. Fact.

Yeah, it's nothing new is it? Don't forget the beans on toast....

Top of the league with Wednesday at home coming up and there's zero buzz.

It just feels fucking miserable, flat and boring no matter what is happening on the pitch. And no, I'm not saying it was a great game today, despite the score.

It's dead unfortunately. And there are no excuses anymore.

Its already been explained to you by the wise old sages on here how this category of fans should feel privileged to have to jump through hoops to have thirty quid lifted off them.

The crowd of 24000 is not that bad , Wigan dont bring many and have never been a big draw, if floating fans pick and choose games to go to , this wont figure highly
Blades v west brom or villa would carry far more appeal

The cost of football , and we are by no means a high cost club means theres more games that dont stir the blood getting average gates

4-2 up and Billy was outside the box playing some neat football (again ) and some guy to the side of me shouted 'what ya doing there Billy get int box !'

Yeah you have only scored 3 goals and generally played very well Billy! We demand you get another goal this instant !

Mind boggles

I have always felt out crowd have been generally ok and not too bad but today I felt it was a poor atmosphere

We are top of the league and have a hell of a good team and manager and we seem to now have a crowd who just expect great play and goals constantly , please let's get back to like the Villa atmosphere, hoping the next few big games will see a great improvement and continue for the season

What would it be like if we were in the position of those trampy neighbours! ?

Well played blades , special praise to Stevens , Billy, Leon and Norwood for his fantastic passes for the 3rd and 4th goals alone !

The gist of the thread isn’t about the quantity of fans though.
