You didn't think i'd disappear just because of a defeat did you? I have my pride (just).

Well it was bound to happen sooner or later, by that I mean a United derby win, but at half time I meant a Boxing Day Massacre reverse, but thankfully that didn't materialise!

I thought Wednesday started the brighter, lots of possession in the first five minutes and you lot were chasing shadows, then all of a sudden, BANG 1-0, couldn't believe it, and it looked like the players couldn't either, shook us up big time and changed the course of the first half.

Second goal epitomised our defending, four defenders attacking the ball from a throw in and no-one marking the man for the follow up, think it may have been an OG?

Third goal, just completely baffled by WHAT THE FOOK BUXTON WAS DOING. Ok you think you've been fouled (I didn't think so), but maybe you could have headed into safety rather than bulleting one in your own net. Half time and I thought 3-0was very harsh on us but our defence was woeful, I genuinely thought we were on for a 0-5 spanking, Boxing Day would never be sung again.

But thank god we got off our arses, I suppose Laws chucked a few chicken wings about in the changing room. Esajas showed intent from the off and Tudgay scored a cracking goal, followed by Esajas' free-kick, before which I thought we had a shout for a pen after his previous free-kick was parried by Bunn and Wood's shirt was tugged back by a United player.

Wednesday were playing lovely football, dominated the second half completely, which I suppose was to be expected from the half-time score. I know I'll be shouted down but I thought we were definitley worth a point, you just shaded the first half (despite an emphatic scoreline) and Wednesday bossed the second.

In terms of football, again i'll be shouted down but I thought you lot were awful with the constant use of the long ball, hoof after hoof, with Henderson of course it was working because he was bullying our defence (not having a go) but it was dreadful to watch and Wednesday in contrast wanted to play football, may be sour grapes but that's what I honestly thought.

One last note, after such a fantastic match it was a shame to see more trouble outside the Wednesday end after the final whistle, when will the numbskulls learn this is football, not cage fighting.

Player mentions -
Un**ed
Morgan - He's not the best, and an ugly fooker, but he's damn effective in a game like this and he probably willed you on to victory in the end

Cotterill - Always liked him and wasn't happy to see him come off the bench, but I thought he lost a lot of posession that could well have cost you all three points

Montgomery - Do your fans still give him stick? Because he doesn't deserve it.

Harper - Didn't realise he was playing until 76 minutes. Seriously.

Evans - Is he still not match fit? I expected more from him

Henderson - see Montgomery. Man of the match

Wednesday
Grant - Best shot stopper in the league, who did he save from late on with a header? World class save. Worst box-commander in the league. Gives me bloody kittens.

Buxton - Poor imitation of Simek circa two years ago. Such a shame the American got such a bad injury. This guy can't play football and he's really having a mare of a patch

Purse - Really pleased he signed but he's had three awful games on the trot now, we were second to every second ball in that first half and he seemed a yard slow

Spurr - Gave everything he had yet again

Johnson - Now you know he's not great every game.

Potter - Best player on the park for me apart from Henderson, keeps the ball well, terrific vision.

Varney - Not up to previous displays

Tudgay - Always a threat again, well taken goal

Esajas - Changed the game, terrific goal, but see Johnson, won't always be like that.

It really doesn't matter well done for takening it to us we were our own worst enemy second half, but were you have had luck before, we had it today, we may have hoofed it a bit but Grant was the key for you his saves again kept you in it. In the end I'm chuffed, its doesn't have to be about beauty we still got the 3pts.

"Wednesday in contrast wanted to play football". I thought Wednesday played like United 6 years ago. Very direct and physical with very little quality.

Fair play, cant disagree with too much of that 1867, im trying very hard to dislike Laws but have to admit he aint done bad with what he has had to work with.

Soon as I came out.

United fans obviously chanting and a Wednesday fan walking away with his teenage son shouted back about last years double. Just banter.

Big bloke comes up and smacks him, knocks him clean out in front of his son who's in tears, lots of trouble obviously but calmed down after police came in.

Walking back to town and some Unitedites with shirts on are all singing, a nobhead Wednesday 'fan' came up from behind and punched one of the Unitedites in the back and spat at him once in front of them, what a coward, to be fair the Unitedites didn't react, although I wouldn't have begrudged them giving him a smack

I'm also here, i'm not hiding, you should know me :D

Few things i've got to disagree with:

Wednesday were playing lovely football, dominated the second half completely, which I suppose was to be expected from the half-time score. I know I'll be shouted down but I thought we were definitley worth a point, you just shaded the first half (despite an emphatic scoreline) and Wednesday bossed the second. - If that was lovely football i'd hate to see what bad football is. Thought we we average at best and didn't deserve anything. At the final whistle i thought that we deserved a point, but thinking back no way. If Grant hadn't pulled off 3 or 4 quality saves they'd have got 7.

- Completely agree. Thought United were rubbish to be honest but we were worst. Like i've already said though, you deserve 3 points.

Like you've done, player mentions:

Morgan - HATE this man, detest him, he's ugly and a horrible defender BUT i'd LOVE to have someone like him for us. Great defender but horrible man :D

Harper - did he even play????

Bunn - few quality saves but should have done better for esajes.

US

Buxton - Terrible, really really poor again.

Purse - Shite, clumsy and clueless.

Johnson - like him but poor tonight, Really inconsistant.

Spurr - only player for us who gives 100% all the time, although not the most gifted off players.

tudgay and Varney - both good again, but not enough goals, (mainly due to lack of productivity)

Overall, strange feeling tonight, not dissapointed but i should be.

First half we were dire and i said if you get one more i'm off home. Think you deserved three points and grinded out a decent victory, but promotion i think not.

Anyway, enjoy it piglets, we'll have you next time:D

Stop telling porkies and get back on one of the pig boards and cry !

One last thing before I go to bed to watch The Young Ones, I have to mention the attendance, which has been piloried for years by your lot due to just scraping past 30,000.

Did I hear the announcer right, just over 29,000?

Come on, excuses...

What was the score, never mind the attendance !

In no way can this be condoned, but isn't the wisest course to keep quiet? Especially with a young lad in tow. It's not wise to engage in 'banter' at most away grounds, but to do so after a Derby is stupid.

The only attendance that matters was the 11 on the pitch. Good night ;)

Johnson - like him but poor tonight, Really inconsistant.

Walker had him in his back pocket
More pace more skill top player.
Johnson was clueless, had no idea how to beat him.

The long ball over the top in the second half released ched a few times and he had a few shots some of which brought great saves from your keeper, he really should have had two in the second half. I believe its called hitting you on the break.

The dutch lad gave Walker a better run for his money.

I must say Johnson was poo and got abit scrappy when he was being outplayed by Walker.

Thought Johnson would play on the right and feared he would expose Taylor's lack of pace. I was puzzled when Laws decided to play him on the left against the strong and quick Walker who had him in his pocket

Really? my prediction is that by February the Wendy fans will realise that Lee "Hey,dude" Strafford is another Mr Nobody like Geoff Sheard, Laws will have had enough and move to a different club and Wendy will collapse faster than an one legged man in a bum-kicking contest!

Got to agree. Wendy deserved a point and played the better football. But, i look at the table and think yes, I like the look of that.

What's with the harsh reaction to two pretty even handed summaries?

Fair play to your lot, you gave it a good go in the second. Thought Gray was your best player to be honest - he bossed the midfield after the break.

Will summarise our lot tomorrow if I can be arsed, but just happy to get the win.

Roll on the Sty for the completed double and restoration of parity.

FFS why on earth do you bother rising to the bait of some sad little pig who has no friends so feels the need to come on here and stir the shit?

They lost on the pitch, they conceded off it so don't worry about it. Just one sad Pig trying to get a rise so don't rise to it, they really and truly aren't worth it.

:gallop:

I worry about Houso, I'm of the opinion that he wears sandals and socks and drives a Nissan Micra.

He may have big hands but I think they're FAKE :fishbowl::fishbowl::fishbowl:

:gallop:

Bollocks to it, I thanked you both. Not because I really agree with your assesments but because you had the bollocks to come on here after a defeat, fair play.

First i would like to say thank god for that win, well done blades.

Secondly, i think we was good enough in the first half to have the lead we did although we were lucky to get all three of the goals but goals are goals and we take them however they come.

Thirdly, i think that wednesday did well in the 2nd half to give us a game and their first goal was a quality strike, and their 2nd was a good strike but only saw it the once as i had my head in my hands so wasnt sure if Bunn shoulda done better tbh. but fair play to them for making a game of it in the 2nd half although i had heart in my mouth for the last half hour or so. Good saves from Grant kept them in it, and a couple good saves from Bunn.

And although it seemed like the ref was giving everything against us and again hendo getting nothing from the ref im glad we came thru with all three points. And a good preformance from the new lad davies at the back, toughest game to get thrown into but came out and played well.

Although there is a funny feeling about the result Wednesday must be gutted.

From before the kick off we were there for the taking tonight with a centre half who had never even trained with the first team. Which is why is looked so shakey after the first goal had put the doubt in their minds. If they can't turn us over in that situation I think we can look forward to the away fixture as I don't think Tudgay will be there and all the good Strafford vibe should of disappeared up its own arse.
Given the Killa situation tonights result is a real cracker.
