I read some time ago in here somewhere that Jack Marriott was a boyhood Blade. So he is added to the below list.

Steve Heighway
Peter Kitchen
Gordon Hobson
Andy Hill
Jack Lester
Billy Sharp
Kyle Walker
Lee Gregory

Any more?

Marriott said after the game all his family were watching the game in Cornwall and are all Blades.

Mel Sterland? No way he is blue & white.

I know Mel, 100% pig, his twin is a Blade.

One of the most egregious crimes against cinema is allowing Sterland to not only feature as himself for the United team in When Saturday Comes (itself almost inexcusable, in a film that is itself dire), but as captain too.

Not as a kid he wasn't. When he was 10 him and his twin were both Blades. I believe he converted to the dark side in his teenage years.

Yes I know that but he went across to the swine pretty soon for some stupid reason. Incidentally I got to know him by playing in the same over 35 side as him (with a few other ex pro's) & I have to say he is a top lad, surprised by how down to earth he is.

I've no problem with him celebrating but it annoyed me that he celebrated in front of our fans but whats even more annoying is that we didn't sign him this summer. I still haven't figured out why, maybe we thought he was too much like Billy, which he is, but he's younger and going to improve. I think he'll leave Derby in a year or two for silly money. Oh well, at least we didn't spend 6 million on Waghorn!

Wayne Biggins

Seem to remember Scott Sellars being a Blade as well, but don't know if he's scored against us. I'm assuming that he has at some point in the past because my Grandma could have scored against some of our teams back in those days

There's a few "celebs" that changed allegiances. Everybody thinks that Jarvis Cocker is a pig, but he supported us up until is teenage years.
Michael Palin is another, although he claims to support both clubs

Marriot celebrated the goal and why shouldn't he, scoring a goal, probably a winning goal must be a tremendous buzz whoever it is against.

Biggins was a Wendy fan. I have spoken to him about it. speedymcgeady will tell you the same.

I always thought Biggins was a Wednesday fan?

edit: Silent Blade beat me to that, and with more definite knowledge!

Scott was a Leeds fan with Wednesday tendencies. We played in the same team as kids, like a dog with two docks when Leeds wanted him.

It wasn't the celebrating itself, more that with 24-25000 home fans he chose to run to the corner and wave at the 3000 away fans, despite having no reason to.

Biggins was indeed a Wendy, I grew up with him so knew him pretty well. He was pretty arrogant though & no-where near as good as he thought he was, in fact he was very ordinary, but he did put his everything into being a pro & had a decent career.

I'll have to accept you knew that was his mindset, I don't, but I've seen Blades players do the same thing so I don't get to upset by it.

Don't see why you must be upset to question why a player chooses to run to the away fans to goad them when he's been given no reason to (having a go at him during the game for instance).

Always seems a pointless and petty reaction when you've got thousands of your own to celebrate with.

As I said Blades players have done exactly the same thing, I don't condone that either, but players continue to do it :)
