Quarter-season conclusions

Good shout, that's probably the one point where I went on personal perception rather than data! From memory we've certainly had a few games recently (Millwall and Preston) where the opposition scored two goals from very few chances - that said, that was our Achilles heel last season too. I'll have to try and look into that in more detail although it might be one for Blades Analytics ;)
Cheers for the response. Worth pointing out that 5 of those goals came in our first two matches against Swansea and Boro - I suppose it remains to be seen whether those were pre-Norwood aberrations, or actually a decent barometer of where we are against the better teams in this league.

I hope my first post didn't come across as a criticism by the way - I really enjoy reading your analyses and was genuinely interested in your thoughts!

Acually watching Bristol City toil along with some other outfit on Sunday left me thinking we might only be top of the league because we're only playing against non-league opposition?

Bristol put themselves right in my relegation predictions with that performance. Absolutely shocking, and I'm not just saying that because of the opposition, looked a different team to the one we played the other week. They at least looked capable if not dangerous.

Thought both teams were very average.
Bristol City were hard working and organised but really lacking quality. I know they play in the same kit but it felt like I was watching a very good league 1 team, like Barnsley. Bristol City were just playing percentage football and hoping for the best.

Wednesday were generally negative and very underwhelming. Good job they have some quality individuals who can score goals from nothing but as a team they looked disjointed.

Not at all, appreciate the feedback! I'm no genius with this stuff anyway, just something I do for fun - so it's always good to get comments, helps me be a bit more critical of my own thinking/analysis when I write these things

My conclusion at this stage is that we are fookin marvellous, we have the best management team this side of the Milky Way, and a team full of also rans that masquerade most Saturdays (and Wednesdays) as superstars :)
