Leagues starting to take picture now but who are the main contenders for the top 2/6 theoretically ??

Leeds ? Look inconsistent
Middlesbrough ? Barely scored
Probs say west brom who have far too much talent for this league and a decent manager

West Brom should go up automatically you'd think with their squad. After that who knows. About 10 teams can realistically aim top 6, it's going to be consistency that counts, think maybe goal difference will decide a top 6 place if I continues to be as tight as it is right now.

It’ll upset a few but I have us down as real outsiders. If we’re near the top at Christmas and buy well (never easy or likely), then I’ll change my mind.

I’d predict 7th or 8th from here, whilst loving every second of being in amongst it.

None of those teams are shit (or at least theyll most likely be good by Feb). Include Wednesday if you like (I won't, until they can convincingly beat a bad team I think they are mid table).

To get in the play offs we need to finish above 5 of those teams. I'd guess only Norwich of that list won't at least attempt to spend a sizeable chunk of cash in Jan.

15 wins and 6 draws from here gets us definite top 6. Doable but tough. If I had to guess now I'll say if we win 3 of our last 5 games we'll get top 6. But it'll be close

We should not be concerned by Bladey Inferiority Complex or impressed by obsequious cap-doffing. Such diversions do nothing to achieve the objective.

Wouldn't be surprising if someone like Stoke got their act together and bombed up the league to go up with them.
The truth is we haven't played many of the top teams so don't really have much of a barometer of how good we are yet. We also don't have the same strength in depth, particularly in the final third.
Another 50 points gets us in the play-offs and with 34 games to get them, that looks possible.

Never said it was anything out of left field , we’re discussing contenders and I was pointing out what I said preseason and that I haven’t changed my mind.

It doesn't matter what players other teams have got or who they play.

We are as good as anything in this league up to now - why you may ask - because we are TOP.

So I will offer my rounded opinion:

Blades and Albion to qualify without the mental stress of playoffs

Leeds for me, they have great skill, fitness levels and a fantastic workrate. They are a different beast under Biesla, and have been unlucky in the games they have drawn. I'm just hoping that their injuries pile up, they draw a few more and the crowd starts to get restless - but the fans are right behind him at the moment. There was a cracking atmosphere v Brentford.

If anyone really wants to judge the contenders then the best way is to read the fans forums of the contenders.

Boro: Their fans are already fed up with Pulis saying they might get results but often look poor and negative.
Some of their fans are convinced that they are in a false position and have no chance of the play-offs whilst Pulis is there.

West Brom: Their fans have doubts about the manager and can’t believe they are second when they’re no where near defensively organised. Their fans are convinced they will improve and once the defence is sorted then they should win the league.

Forest: Their fans think something special might be happening under Karanka and feel they will improve throughout the season and if try get some consistency then have the capability to finish top 2.

Don’t think Leeds and Brentford will finish top 2, but both should make the play-offs.
I expect West Brom to finish top 2 and Boro to finish outside the top 6. Surprise teams could be us or Forest.

Stoke and Villa have excellent players but a shit team. Dependent on manager changes they both could be strong in the 2nd half but still don’t think either will reach the play-offs.

I don’t see any team in the league who has a good as midfield who combine and are as good as ours. And don’t see any team who plays to a system and knows excactly what there doing like us.
Just need the consistency which I think we can keep up
