Phenomenal save lad!

Having literally nothing to do all game and remain switched on to pull that save off at point blank from Dicko was superb.

In the back of my mind I know at some point he'll be back at Old Trafford where his heart lies for that No1 jersey but while hes here I'm very, very grateful to all involved who have made it possible for him to pull on a Blade shirt.

Hull were never gonna score today and I wasn't even slightly concerned having Deano between the sticks.

Looking forward to this lad pulling on an England shirt!

I have never ever purchased a replica keeper shirt, think thats about to change :)

What he said!

Think he will be with us for a long time yet. Will not be in the Manure side till he changes his name to "de hedersoni" and will be available to us for a decent fee. Already proved he loves it here and gets what we are about. Munneh spunkin time......£xM and a bag of quavers should do it

I watched a bit of leeds Brentford ahead of our game and both their keepers were dodgy compared to hendo.

The big teams always seem to want to spend millions on big name keepers. Big if...but if we went up I think there's a chance we could sign him

I'm gonna state the obvious that I desperately want promotion this year (like we all do, every season) but this year its even more so because of what you just wrote.

I think that if we landed in the Premiership we could at some point secure his signature if thinks don't work out at Old Trafford (which they will for him). However he's already adored here and when you endear yourself to the faithful at the lane cult status always follows!

Top of the league tonight and don't that feel good!

Brilliant keeper and like many was disappointed we didn't get Blackman. He's better than Blackman and if we go up, I believe he'll stay.

He’s quality our Deano and he loves playing for us. Break the bank for him Chris.

Watch his celebration today...all on his own, other end of the pitch, he went fucking crackers, beating his chest, looking up at the Blades on the upper tier of the lane end. He might want to be #1 at man utd one day, but he fucking loves it here. He knows we're a special club, and he knows he's playing in a special team. Bench warmer at OT for a few years, or undisputed number 1 at the REAL united for years to come. You know it makes sense Deano...

If we did get up he would sign in a heartbeat, you can tell he loves it here.

Isn’t he a life long Man U fan though? I can’t seeing him giving up that dream just yet, Not permanently anyway. If we got up we might get him on loan for a Premier League season as I am sure Man U see that as his next step.

He was now he's 100% Blade.

I admit I thought we missed a trick not getting Blackman in.
I still maintain for aerial ability and commanding that 6yd box there’s few as good as Blackman....but Hendo just makes saves he shouldn’t.
So although he might not claim as many crosses he saves more shots. So wins.
I was wrong (early call perhaps)

Hendo and Egan were my first choices for both positions. Both doing well so far.

I'm sure something could be worked out if we manage it. Like a loan to buy but a buy to buy back, whatever we can do to get him.

We'll have him for decent money but you can have him back for a bit more than that after one season, double after two, triple after three, and if we are in a position where he's not at the level he should be at, he can seek a transfer. I don't know.

I can't see Man U moving away from De Gea/Courtois/Ederson/Lloris/Allison types any time soon unless they get Alex Ferguson 2 who actually gives a shit about their academy.

The fact he's not Mancunian gives me hope too.

Good food for thought for Hendo on yesterday's Football Focus (at 22m 55s for around 3 minutes). Goalie Neil Etheridge was released by Fulham, couldn't find a club and ended up at Oldham and then Walsall where he proved his worth. Then he moved to a Championship team with an 'old school' manager (Warnock's Cardiff) and now in the PL and Phillipine's national team. A classic case of taking a step backward in order to progress.

Unfortunately, unless we get promoted I don’t think we have a chance of signing him. By the end of the season he’ll be pushing £10m in value if not more.

We’ve had some quality keeper at The Lane in my time as a Blade, Hendo is right up there with them, his celebrations are priceless.
Top of the League, bloody marvellous feeling!
CW is God!

Good original post. A top class keeper has confidence and the abilty to remain switched on for 90 minutes, even if he has nothing to do bar one save. Hendo has all those qualities. A great signing and a kid with a very big future.

Just out of interest does anyone know if he had this kind of connection with the supporters when he was at the Shrews last season?

Not trying to put a downer on things because I think he is top draw, but not entirely sure if he has genuinely got the Blades bug, or is just an excitable kind of chap :D

I do suspect it's the former though, as we have seen quite a few loanees fall for us in the last few years. Wilder seems to have created such a buzz around the players/supporters/club that I can see how infectious it must be to somebody new who is coming in.

I've got dual nationality, so shouldn't really comment, but....

Neil Etheridge.....Philippines......

I do know that they loved him so maybe.
