View From Hull

To be fair to Hull, they did get their tactics right and nullified our midfield. I thought they could come away from it feeling they deserved a draw.

I hope learn better how to cope with teams playing those tactics.

Local rivals though, Manchester is loads closer and I don't see that lot as local Derbies

It's a Yorkshire derby, but not a local derby. Not everywhere in Yorkshire is local. Yorkshire's quite big. However, I'm not sure which club(s) they see as their natural rivals. York City?

“Thanks Nige, we’ve lost to both of our local rivals in the last 3 games, if you can’t get the players up and buzzing for derby matches you can’t against the others, 1 goal by dodgy pen in last 3 games”
Geography is not this guys strong point or maybe they don't teach it in Hull schools.

Some bizarre comments from them. Grimsby is probably their nearest local rival?!!.
Give madkins time and they’ll be playing each other soon enough!!!. Hahaha. UTB

Came for draw, left with a defeat. I think I know who got the tactics right there

We won’t win every game 3 or 4 nil. A close result and a clean sheet to go top would be taken by every other team in this division

They are all over the place, and as usual a weird cacophony, but they don't have the cultural footballing legacy of other towns and cities. They are on their way back to where they really should be division 3. They got lucky twice with their plonked stadium and saved from extinction by Allam, but now the luck and money has run out. But as it happens they are to be re-taken over by Duffen and a "Saudi" consortium. I can only hope it's the Prince and his cronies who give up on us and go to them. They are welcome to him.

To be fair to Hull they have quite a few very good players and should be doing far better than bottom of the league, there must be a reason eh Nigel ?

“NA is the kind of bloke who’d call relegation a positive” :p:p

They’ve got Mr Adkins sussed out

I thought it would be penalty this and that lucky Utd etc but quite a few fair comments

As long as they finish below us I don’t particularly dis-like ‘Ull

I’d like to see all Yorkshire teams in top flight as long as we finish above them, except the South Barnsley, i’d Like to never ever see or hear anything about those horrible twats

It shows how far we have come and how far they have fallen. More a rugby league town and I remember some ding dong matches with them in the past. The tiger is toothless and tottering.

Always find it funny when our fans complain about Hull thinking of it as a derby.

To us it obviously isn't as there are heaps more teams nearby (our well-known local rivals Blackburn and Wigan are a similar distance away), but to them the nearest places with clubs are Grimsby, Scunny, Doncaster, York, Lincoln, Rotherham, Barnsley, Leeds and Sheffield.

In a couple of seasons they'll be able to consider a trip to Harrogate Town a derby as it's the same distance away as Sheffield, but in this division, Rotherham, Leeds and the Sheffield clubs are going to be their derbies, even if to fans of all of those teams, Hull are just an irrelevant side from a rugby town.

Local rivals? 'Derby'?

They wish.

They'll be up against the likes of Grimsby again before too long - their true local rivals.

Was going to include Lincoln in that but they'll probably overtake them in the not too distant the way they're going.

This is the real view from Hull

“We are now bottom of the league and Sheffield United are top. Shows how poor this league is. Very worrying times though….”

Yeah today's game was a bit dull and we ground a 1 nil out but this doesn't speak for our other games this season.

*facepalm*

Even if Fleck and JOC go, they're not going cheap, they're contracted for another 3 years aren't they?

It's the management and spirit that's important, not just the players. As long as we get money to reinvest, and we have a happy manager I think we'll be reyt whatever happens.

That is a bizarre thread. I’m pretty sure there historical natural position is with those teams they plant in the category of temporarily overachieving.
“When will we be one of those clubs overachieving” To most clubs you already are. To chuck us in there too is odd, I know we were out of the league a while but championship football has always been our bread and butter.
