Unfortunately, in 2016-2017, their average away following during the league season (excluding play offs) was 2,521 and ours 1,622. I can't find last season's numbers.

That’s not accurate.
During the 2016-17 season our away average was 2,444.
Maybe you’ve mixed us up with Bolton because they averaged 1,686 away fans that season.

Also in that 2017 season we sold out far more matches than Wednesday did.
SW played in the Championship and were offered 3 to 4,000 for some away games.
SU played many matches where away tickets was limited to only 1500 to 2000, the average was massively bumped up because we took nearly 7000 to Milton Keynes.

I thought 1622 was inaccurate

Think they are right that 1300 is not as impressive as we once were.
It means at the most only about one in six of members on this forum are actually going.

Hate to say it but Wednesday do take more away than us, last year QPR, Millwall, Reading fans I know all said the same. Even this season a Sunderland mate commented how poor our turnout at Boro was compared to the Pigs at their place for a crappy cup game on tv. Whilst our home attendances are closer than ever, I don't think the away support is. I would be surprised if we sold more away tickets than them last season but if i'm wrong tell me.

Does it matter

I recall that one of the most thoughtful and informed View Froms in the League One promotion season was from Bristol Rovers, and now this. This is causing me cognitive dissonance as we all know Bristol is a town populated exclusively by thick yokels.

"Norwood was a really astute signing, can play the Pack role without perhaps the passing range."

Fuck me, if Pack has a better passing range than Oli, he must be as good as Pirlo!

1. We don't fuck about at the back.
2. You have to get the ball off us first to be able to play.
3. Duffy will run his bollocks off chasing the ball for 60-70 minutes.
Yep, when we signed twice promoted Ollie Norwood from Premier League Brighton, the resounding feeling wasn’t “shame, I wish we’d signed Marlon Pack instead”.

3-1 Blades. We are better than last season. They’ve lost their best attacker and best defender and replaced with inferior. Plus they seem a bit deluded.

"Will cheat in midfield, and if you think where Weimann was picking up the ball in 20 yards of space v BR, that’s where Duffy will want to receive the ball, but instead of Weimann having one forward colleague, Duffy will have two, and their launching of breakaways is very impressive"

OK, I've read that a few times and whilst I presume spell checker has come up with CHEAT I can't think of the word he wanted to use. Or did he mean Cheat and I really don't understand?
create?
edit sorry ‘should of’ :) read the thread first

when he says “cheat” i thought he meant that Duffy doesn’t track his man and stays out of position when the opposition has the ball

Cheers Roy. A good read on a Friday lunch break. What’s with the pork comment at the end???. The snort beasts always seem to infiltrate any view from!!!.
A good win tomorrow to make it 5 wins in a row. UTB

Probably more affordable for them than home games

By saying "cheat" he means Duffy wont have any responsibility tracking back or marking people, he'll just let people go there by causing them an issue when they attack as someone will need to not go forward to keep an eye on him.
This, aligned with his abilities, make all the difference for United as when we have a three of (as it was) Evans, Fleck, Lundy all of them were typical midfielders who tracked back, Duffy has the freedom to not bother and therefore is in dangerous places when we get the ball
