Surely the best.

It became one of those 'crazy pubs' where they painted the interior walls black and had shite like old sinks, bicycles etc. hanging off the walls. Can't remember what they re-named The Landsdowne then but The Plough, Sandygate Road and some hole in Rotherham (Gyngleboys?) got the same treatment.

When me fatha were a lad there were summat like 22 pubs just on Boston Street!

Reading these with a tier in my eye great memories. The Mill in Mosbourgh was where we would meet befour Home and away games. we even had a couple of pigs change colours because we had such a good bunch of lads

Not closed, but the Hanover in Broomhall isn't a million miles from the Lane... has anyone ever been in? Not sure if I dare.

I went to school near there so it was THE place to go on leaving school.

It was called “The Mill” when it first opened. Restaurant upstairs, bar and disco downstairs.

A great place to seek out local totty whose ambition in life was to get pregnant.

A great place to to fight with local Derbyshire village boys, whose ambition in life was to get the local totty pregnant.

I used to go quite a bit when I was in my teens.

It got a reputation for being really rough later on.

Been in once or twice at lunch for a swifty as it isn't far from where I often work. It's a bit of a hole but not rough as such, just dingy and very tired, and the chances are you will be taking your drink back and asking for a clean glass.

It's also been very quiet when I have been in, can't vouch for it in the evenings though.

Too lazy to go through every page. Has the Rising Sun and Great Britain been mentioned? Sorry that I'm a lazy sod.

Down stairs in the Mill 50p to get in loved sunday nights down there

West End is now called Doctors Orders. Despite the wanky name it is a nice drop in for a cheap(ish) bite and a pint and I highly recommend it. They had a choice of 3 ales t'other day. 2 adult, 1 kid meal and it came to <£20.

It was the top rated "restaurant" (It is certainly a pub and not a restaurant!) in Sheffield on Trip Advisor when we went (which is why we went). Not sure it quite deserves that kind of status, but it is very nice!
Was shot last time I went on 5 weeks ago. Chips as limp as a dick on 15 pints and just as greasey

My cousins husbands family used to run the mill in the 90s early 2000s,Carrighans..

I saw the other day on Twitter (the excellent Adrian Stones aka Barnstoneworth) that the Hornblower just off west street was no more. When did that happen?
It's now a shitty theme bar or summat.

Used to really enjoy the Marstons Pedigree in there.

Part of my youth ripped away and gone forever.

Went in there before a meal in Nitmal's on my Stag.

Used to go in the Mill many moons ago usually for the disco on a Friday night .

Used to go in here now and then on a match day. Strange pub but always found it welcoming

It went before West One was built Ken, sadly. 15 years ago, at least. I used to enjoy a slurp in there as well and was gutted to see it go.

Remember 'Improvisions' at Top Rank/Roxy's? Held on Sundays, I saw The Stranglers, Generation X, Iggy Pop etc. there. It was about £1.50 to get in.

The Police, Buzzcocks, Pretenders, Joe Cocker, it was great never knew who was playing just went anyway.

Great days, Dire Straits supporting Talking Heads at the Uni..

Of all the bands at the Top Rank I think The Ramones were best ,Sham 69 was mad and The Clash (my favourite band ever) were disappointing. The twotone night was good (Selector/Madness/Specials) until the old bill turned the electric off.

Remember once in the Domino about 100 Blades hid in the pub and half a dozen stood outside, expecting Wendys mob ,they came down from West st ,loads of them ,Flynny ,Chapman Ebby all those losers and got the shock of their lives.
Brilliant

About 10 years ago! It’s now “West one”, a housing complex with retail / bars underneath.

Beehive still exists, over the road.

Not sure if it's been mentioned but The Vine is currently (and exceedingly slowly) being turned into flats. They've been building for at least two years.
