Woodburn can't start after Saturday. Duffy likely to below 100% after the virus. Leonard deserves a chance in midfield after his display.

I think Wilder will be more inclined to play Stearman than Leonard though, with Basham in midfield like at QPR.

Be a hard game this, Bolton have retained their physicality but improved a fair bit technically with their recruitment this summer. They play tonight for some reason, at home to Birmingham, so that should give us a considerable advantage. But if we win it'll undoubtedly be our best of the season so far.

Thought Lenny did well on Saturday and gave us the extra energy we needed. Wouldn’t be surprised to see Stearman start though with Bolton’s height

Despite Stearmans height though, he's not that dominant in the air.

I'm thinking it will be the exact same as Norwich but maybe Duffy in for Woodburn. Would like Stearman back in the middle though. Can't be long til Clarke gets dropped because McGoldrick looked good when he came on.

Looks like Sameobi will be missing for Bolton, with Wildschut (great loan signing) likely to start.

Wheater, Beevers and Magennis are the main fucking big fuckers. Then they have a few mere solid fuckers like Lowe and Vela.

Let's just hope Oztumer and Donaldson don't start. We know what will happen...

We're better than them at football, but it's Bolton, they can do a job on any fucker.

Agree with the OP line up, it's time we see the real Leonard, and with his attributes he could play a vital part in midfield this season.

As long as we don't fuck ourselves defensively, we'll win.

Stearman needs to play for me.
Egan will look quality this Saturday I bet as well with how Bolton play.

Get Duffy back, his shits shouldn't take that long to clear. Then play Woodburn off Sharp and drop Leon. Then play it on the fucking ground, those big lumps of dough will be tripping over each other.

Playing Woodburn ahead of Leon after Saturday's performances would be an absolutely horrendous piece of management. Leon is even more nailed on than he usually is to start this game, and rightly so. If he's fit but not selected I'll be shockingly shocked beyond belief.

There's definitely a case for Duffy to start if he's fit enough. But I think Wilder will be quite inclined to field a physically strong 11, meaning a flat midfield 3 is likely.

No way will Leon be dropped for Woodburn with half the Bolton team being like Haarlem fucking globetrotters at set pieces

I'd go for the same side as Saturday but with Leonard in for Woodburn - from what I saw on Saturday I don't think Woodburn is ready to be starting yet.

I must be the only person who thought Basham was poor at QPR - whilst he was brave and put his body on the line a few times, I thought he was poor in possession and gave the ball away far too often (inc, twice in the first 30 secs of the game). Whilst I am a fan of his generally, I also thought he was at fault for Norwich's goal on Sat - Hernandez shouldn't have been able to turn him in the penalty area like he did

For Saturday I'd play Steerman, Egan and JOC at the back and reward Leonard for an impressive 45 mins on Sat with a chance in midfield like Ricky suggests.

Woodburn will improve when they play him up front off the striker. He's a bit like Brooks and that's also when we got the best out of him.

WOW can see the headline mow,

BASHAM IN WINGER BEATS FULL BACK SHOCK.

It's what wingers do and whilst I agree that Basham didn't cover himself in glory there was also no one covering his back to stop the cross coming in, and there should have been.

So to blame Basham alone for the goal.is very harsh, unless you're saying that no winger should ever turn a full back.

Basham was a part of the problem but he was definitely not the whole of it.

I didn't say he was solely to blame (I personally feel JOC should have tracked Rhodes better as well) but I still feel Basham should have done much better. BTW - I don't think he's a full back either

Yeah,i'll go with Ricky's line up in the O/P.
Leonard did well and deserves a chance...Bolton look to have improved on last year and started well..tough game.
I think Woodburn needs more time...he did play 2 passes into their box just after they scored to pick out Clarke at the right hand post, and then Fleck who got blocked out in the middle of the box,but a positive for him and still a lot more to come.

I must have been asleep for a month but is baldock injured??? Just curious as to why he isn't in the squad and that's all I can believe it is

Cannot argue with the OP team. We all agree it’s about being physical up there. Have options such as maybe Stearman in? We have options. Don’t think it’s really a game for Woodburn.

I hope Bolton win tonight. It will give them confidence to attack us and they're unlikely to win two home games in a row.

A fully fit Freeman starts over Baldock anyway. He's superior defensively and going forwards.

I think we'll see Bash in Midfield and Stearman at the back, with Lendog making way.

The bench should be stronger than Saturday
Agreed, this is one of the few teams where we need to pick a team based on what we're coming up against

Why are Bolton or any other team unlikely to win 2 home games in a row ?

Bolton have actually tried to play a bit of football tonight, apart from when one of those two big donkeys at the back get hold of it.

Ameobi back on the bench tonight and came on after 62 minutes so expect him to start against us now. Great.
