I might be alone in this, but on what we've seen so far, if JOC is off to brighton in January, but we get Norwood the other way, I won't be too disappointed.

I'm sure you're alone in that. I'd hope everyone else wouldn't give up on one of our top players after such a short spell of below par performance.

If there's a gentleman's agreement (which I doubt), by its nature it isn't a done deal and Brighton's interest could cool if his performances drop. So think on JOC.

I'm more on the page that O'Connell looks good with a leader in the back three telling him what to do and occasionally putting a rocket up his arse, which is why our best three on paper might not be the best three centre backs but the three that has that natural leader - i.e. Stearman - at its heart.

He was at his best at QPR in the second half. Back with the settled defence he grew in last season.

They were all decent second half to hold on, but first half was a horror show in defending. Our formation is dazzling to watch but fuck me, sometimes it’s impossible to see who’s meant to be marking who.

Sometimes it’s like they’re turning up on different day trips from the opposition box, getting off to attempt a block on the nearest player then sidling off again. Defensive roulette at its finest. I guess there must be a system but I certainly can’t figure it out.

We're going to let goals in, that's a given but our defending has been Mickey mouse at times this season. Either everyone going for the ball and leaving massive gaps or people not paying attention to the ball because they're so focused on marking their man, and then they lose their man anyway.

We made mistakes last season, and we let loads of long range shots in, but generally I always felt confident in any other situation and we kept a few clean sheets. If we keep on like we are now I can't see a clean sheet coming no matter how good Henderson is.

Risky to rely on outscoring teams.
