If you’re on loan from Wednesday and score against us, dam right you should celebrate in front of the Kop. Not sure why he’s talking about hindsight now.

Football is still about theatre, and with that comes heroes and villains. He celebrates and when we nicked the win, I hope he got the stick for it and continues to do so. They’re not staff in a library, they’re performers in a show that thousands of people turn out to watch and it’s about getting the crowd going.

Doyle’s cockney walk in front of that lot a few years ago was exactly what we’d want to see and if one of our on loan boys scores against Wednesday, I’d want them to celebrate and wind them all up. We’d call him a legend for doing so.

Id rather you hadn’t scored, but once you did I am in favour of your celebration Mr Rhodes.

Makes the win even better as well given it counted for fuck all :)

It was a good celebration.

Unfortunate for us it had to be in front of the Kop. Suppose it was inevitable.

He scored and they lost. Works out fine for us. Got the crowd riled up which could have lifted the players 0.01% but maybe that helped.

I'd prefer he celebrate with his own fans, we can still be outraged from a distance.

Paid to score goals I know, but I can hardly remember the lad touching the ball

The only thing that caught the eye about Rhodes yesterday was the noncy way he ran around the pitch

Hit the bar with a header too. So nearly scored two.

Didn't bother me at all, but I’ll never understand the logic of booking a player for over celebrating with his own fans (supposedly its “inciting the crowd”), yet when players go off like Rhodes yesterday towards opposition fans theres never a booking. One of the stupidest things in football.

I don’t get why he tried to wind us up, I wasn’t the slightest bit wound up and the pigs don’t even like the daft cunt. :)

Yeah been saying that for years.

The booking is supposedly for inciting the crowd which makes it all the more ridiculous.

Rhodes is very similiar to our Billy Sharp.

He’s a great finisher but he’s lost a yard of pace so needs pin point passing to his feet.
In the right team, if you set up Rhodes playing the ball to his feet, he’ll score and look good.
In the wrong team, if you play long balls into space, then Rhodes will struggle and be ineffective.

Also agree with the others, would prefer goal celebrations.
He was getting some stick throughout the match and gave it back when he scored, which is fine.

Was it O’Connell who got turned inside out for the cross to Rhodes. Shocking bit of defending whoever it was.

But didn't

Nearly took a penalty once, but didn't

Personally, don't give two fks about the lad, just as he doesn't us

Only players that concern me are the players that play for our club.

It's a shame that some football fans are such idiots that Rhodes' celebration even needs talking about. I'll admit to having used some foul language about his celebration at the time but as far as I'm concerned what he did only adds a bit of bite to the game. He got booed before kick off, he was taking stick from the fans through the game, and when he scored all he did was stand in front of the Kop and hold a finger in the air.

Unfortunately we have to worry that some fans will be so "incited" that they'll lob coins or bottles or get into fights after the game.

He hardly touch the ball but could have easily have scored 2 and maybe 3. He should have put that header away just before he scored and then he hit the post in the second half.

He was always going to score.
He was always going to celebrate.

However, i am really pleased for him. He looks fit, lean, sharp and caused us problems. Cracking celebration and he really gave it some. I am pleased however not for him scoring, but for him doing it in any shirt except for the pig shirt.

Sounds like he's getting his career on track after making an awful decision to go for the pigs.

GLTTL.

I’m pretty sure it was Basham but I’m not sure how he ended up in JOCs area of the pitch.
It was bash, joc was out of position because he missed a header earlier in the move with Norwood also going for the ball.

I don't mind anyone celebrating a goal, wonder if he will at the sty or have they a clause inserted saying he can't play against them.

Just imagine porktalk if he did

Coins or bottles?, the bloke in front of me almost tore this seat base off in time to get a shot in!!

I think that it was Basham on the cover. If my memory serves me correctly, JOC and Norwood both challenged each other for a header near half way, lost it and they broke. Basham hot footed it over from RCB to cover.

*sorry just read ZMW's post. :)

He's a blade legend,(I'm lying) costing the unclean a shit load of money, gets sent out on loan and finds his scoring boots. We got billy sharp, we got billy sharp.

They are the same sort of person who wants to start a fight because someone “looked at them”. Utter dickheads. Sure, give opponents some verbals, but don’t get mardy when they give it back.

I've said it on another thread that his return to goal scoring form is a good thing. It only goes to show how badly the S6 mob have got it wrong.
They thought the answer to everything is tuna man throwing a fortune at it whilst completely ignoring that all players have strengths and weaknesses.
It still requires a good manager to get the players capable of doing the job in the manner he wants it doing.
