scores f***ing goals.

End of story.
Plays every single week without fail sorry, Chris, unless you provide someone better by the end of the window.

Playing like a man possessed at the minute. Looks fitter, quicker and as ‘sharp’ as ever.

If it wasn’t for him we might have lost last week and we certainly wouldn’t have won today so we’d have 1 point as opposed to 6. He’s making up for Leon’s poor finishing at the minute and is continuing to write himself into Blades folklore.

Every bit as much of a legend as Edwards, Deane et al and long may it continue.

I f***ing love you Billy. Thank you for helping us to get our club back on track. UTB.

Beer is f***ing great too isn’t it?

You’re right though

He would have out scored Leon last season if his arse wouldn't have been attached to the bench for half of it. He will score goals at any club/any level, it's what he does.

I was critical of Billy last season and honestly did not know what he brought to the team, other than the occasional goal
He did not run channels, did not hold the ball up, did not make space and subsequently if he did not score he offered very little especially towards the end of the season.
He has however come back a different player, seemingly lost a bit of weight, no doubt worked hard during the close season and currently deserves his place in the team. Now to keep it going

Aren't his legs supposed to have gone and he be plying his trade at Doncaster/Rotherham/Barnsley/MLS as he won't get near our starting XI??

They're really were some fucking morons on this board in the Summer!!
To be fair chasing down balls over the top is not his game, get him inside the penalty box and there is not many around that are better at being in the right place at the right time than our Billy.

Does Billy get a lot of flack? Seems to be a general consensus that he does, or that he’s not as highly thought of as he should be. Yet, except for a couple of posters on here, most people I speak to hold him in extremel high regard, Club legend, etc...

I’m no different, our best captain since Morgan. Love having him around. The shirt’s his.

If Billy Sharp had supported the pigs growing up I would still maintain he plays every game.

Because he scores goals.

For the hard of thinking it’s because..........

HE SCORES GOALS!

Love Billy and he looks fitter than ever. He's a poacher and will score goals forever as long as we get crosses in the box. Today was a great captains performance, never stopped, led the side and got that last minute winner. What more can we ask??????

I've been saying for a couple of years - since the criticism he got after the Gillingham game in 2016-7, from memory - that we don't need "balance" or someone that "brings something else" to score goals. We need Sharp in the team every week, and we need to leave him there and get on with it.

127 games, 66 goals in his current spell I think. He shows no signs of losing his powers. He's Keith Edwards 30+ years on. When Porterfield left King Keith alone and played him week in week out he produced. So will Sharp. He's better value than Waghorn and Gallagher.

And I don't care what else he "brings to the team". He does the one most important thing very well. He's the current football league leading scorer. 15 more goals and he'll be the leading scorer this century. That's not a fluke.

No more silliness please Chris. Play the man every week.

Anybody thought the way wider has managed him has brought the best out of him?

I don’t know, but he was given an open opportunity to heap praise on Billy in his post-match interview again today and chose to speak about Leon Clarke again instead. I wouldn’t be surprised if that somewhat disheartens the lad.

I know others disagree, but I didn’t think the relationship looked right between the two of them after the QPR match and apparently there was similar scenes with Jack O’Connell after the whistle today.

I’m not criticising Wilder, or Sharp - just pointing out the observations.

Given his maturity and experience, I feel confident that Sharp doesn't really worry about positive strokes from the manager.

Chris needs to manage Leon hence the comments.. Billy doesn’t need it atm

I’m not sure whether I would agree with that. I really don’t think a few heartfelt words from Chris would go amiss, as a general rule I think most people like to feel appreciated - mature / experienced or otherwise. I’m drawn towards a conclusion that perhaps they’ve had some strong words with each other behind the scenes and maybe things are still a little frosty. But I’m speculating, who knows.
