If Norwood is a Bently , then Leon Clark is a ......

A bently???

Norwood is a step up from Coutts, easily as good on the ball and at passing, but far better defensively and with set pieces.

Didn't someone post on here about NKT having a thread early last season about how Van Aken was the best buy in La Liga?

Norwood is a good player and a great league debut, but better than Coutts already?

Coutts wants the ball come what may. I saw similar from Norwood today in the second half, but thought he had a long quiet spell in the first half.

I take your point about set pieces but please take a breath before going so over the top.

Leon is getting ripped to shreds by some on another thread, but was a god after his 4 against Ull.

Funny old game football.....

What is slightly mysterious to me that Norwood is 27, clearly a brilliant footballer, and one I have been raving about since the Fulham game last season. But although he was with a premier league club having been promoted with Brighton, he seems to be largely unknown outside of those clubs he has played for. And the fee we apparently paid shows that he wasn't even so highly rated at Brighton. Comparing him to Fleck, who might be expected to go for around £10m, it seems ridiculous. I'd be interested to know if anyone agrees, and has any theories for why etc ?.

He was cheaper than usual coz Jacks going to Brighton in January.;)

on the odd occasion I do say a "T" I miss the "P" instead... tae-te pie.

Eh, how does that work?

"Pie' without a P is 'ie'. When you place your order, do the people in the chippy look at each other knowingly and call Social Services?

I missed the P in potato, nothing off pie.
Only the T off certain things, like Bentley.... which admittedly I did just spell wrong in the first place.
Do you really pronounce the T in Bentley though?

I love players who can spray passes here there and everywhere without it leaving the surface.

Without wishing to exaggerate, that was one of the finest individual midfield displays I’ve seen in a long time from anybody.

If ah Coutts comes back all fit and firing in a few weeks I think they’ll have to turn floodlights off and lock the doors to get ball of us.

Can’t wait.

Its just nice having decent and varied corners coming in. The fact that the guy is a midfield supremo isnt bad either. Its fair to say when Coutts is back, we have excellent depth and quality at centre mid.

Whisper it quietly.. on that showing he’s better than Coutts.

Where does Coutts fit in? Fleck & Norwood + 1 attacking midfielder in Wildres system. Playing all 3 would be quite negative unless he shove Fleck up in the Duffy role?

I don't, I say Peroni and on the odd occasion I do say a "T" I miss the "P" instead... tae-te pie.
Bloody hell, you all posh on here or summet?

Agree, last season the best midfield was Coutts+ Fleck working as a partnership with Duffy floating about in the space between midfield and attack.

It’s seems that Norwood is almost a direct replacement for Coutts.

So this season I reckon it’d more likely to be
Norwood+ Fleck working as a partnership with Duffy floating but I reckon Wilder is hoping that Woodburn can maybe replace Duffy and play in that floating role between midfield and attack.

Without wishing to get carried away in the Norwood euphoria, after the match I saw him sign an autograph and shake hands with a young blade on crutches, and the lad just cast the crutches away and walked off all normal like. And then there was this puddle in front of his range rover overfinch (lowered, heavy tint on the windows, but still classy), and he didn't step over it or walk around it, he walked on it. And as he was driving out of the car park, he wound down his window (heavy tint, but still classy) and said to the bluebell wood charity collectors stood there all forlorn with empty buckets "Don't waste you time collecting on this side of the ground, try Cherry Street", and they did and their buckets were overflowing. :)
