Legs have gone.

Be the heart and desire next !

God forbid the goals dry up. Be WWIII on ere :)

UTB

More than deserved a goal at the end.
Massive work rate as always but like Wiz points out he was quality in all areas of the pitch today.
Really proud of him.

I keep telling my boss if they our lass up a mountain my performance at work will improve as well.

The 'debut factor' got Norwood MOTM. Fleck was better. Had one of his classic colossal second halves.

Fleck always gets better as games go on. Duffy, and to some extent Coutts, tend to fade.

We normally get about 25 glorious minutes when all of them are playing full throttle.

Overweight, his legs have gone and he doesn't put the effort in. Goals are just not enough damn it!

Definitely deserves a thread of its own this. Totally agree. Tbh he looks fitter, faster and more determined than ever! Respect to the lad. He ran his blood to water today. I can see him being top scorer again if he carries like this.

He was like that for the odd game last season too, on fire with a fantastic attitude and application
But when he was given given a run of games he became ineffective.
He deserves a run of games this season too but I expect him to go off the boil sooner or later and offer little to the team
But I suppose that’s why you have a squad with squad rotation.

Thought Sharp and Clarke complemented each other well and both worked hard.
Really pleased for Sharp, initially out of the team with his place under threat.
What does he do? He accepts being sub, no sulking and works so hard to regain his place.
Scoring goals helps too but for me, it’s his 100% Blade attitude that makes him so appreciated.

A true legend of the club, up there with Hagan, Woodward & Currie.
I remember seeing all three of the above, although Hagan was in decline and at the end of his career. I love Billy and think he should be starting for us every game. To be fair though, he is not in the same league as the above three who would be at the top level of the Premier league and earning millions in today’s game. Having said that none of them were born and bred Blades quite like Billy. Because he really is “ one of our own”.

Brilliant isn't it. He's basically untackleable.
Fleck will go down as one of my all time greats, I think he’s that good.

Norwood won’t be long before he gets that label from me if he carries on like this, he’s adorable to watch.

Imagine a midfield of Fleck, Norwood and Coutts? We’d have 90% possession and won’t be able to stop purring over them. That’s a Prem midfield in my opinion.

And peeps were whinging when we let L Evans go.... think Norwood was already signed up.

What a swap.

Oh and Billy is awesome :D

I thought fleck was our best player in the second half but over 90 minutes I have to go for ollie, the only player to take the ball off fleck in the second half was the ref., Norwood looks class, he isn't the quickest but his speed of thought is brilliant , over the last few months of football we do tend to be a tad slow at receiving and passing but norwood picks the ball up and knows very very quickly what he is going to do and does it, the more he plays with our better players like fleck and Duffy and hopefully coutts he will look even better.

Some of Flecks tackles today were superb, love how he just leaves it all out there, 100% committed to every tackle, not pussy footing about n soft shit, proper, "get on your fucking arse" tackles.
Brilliant player.
Also thought Bash had a brilliant game today, ok, we all know he's not the best, but you can't ever question his commitment, 100% Blade.
And then, Henderson, the one-on-one, what a fucking beautiful save, really gelled with the fans, looks like he's really enjoying his football, and being a Blade!

A timely reminder that however great Chris is, he's still human.

Not picking Billy for the first two was a mistake.

Hope he learns from it. Certainly binning the Evans-Lunny set up is a good start.

If loyalty and commitment were a credential then Billy would be up there with the best of them, Jones and Birchenall were two of the most exciting players I saw. Who cannot forget Sherman tearing the pigs apart at the sty? Unfortunately we sell our best players and for me, Woodward, Hodgy, Joe Shaw were true servants for the club.

Billy worked really hard yesterday and deserved his goal. Even if he's not playing well, there's always a chance he'll score. Basham would run through walls for the club but sometimes just lacks a bit of quality. A couple of times yesterday both Fleck and Sharp shouted at him when he'd not passed the ball to their liking, but then he played Billy in with a lovely little through ball, which actually Billy should have scored, and then of course plays the ball over for McGoldrick for the goal.

With the (possible) exception of James Beattie (first time) Billy is simply the most natural and instinctive goalscorer I've seen play for us in my time at the lane. He might not be as quick as he once was (he was never Usain Bolt to be fair) but if you give him the ball in the box, there is a more than decent chance it'll end up in the back of the net. Fact is, it would cost millions to buy another player with his poaching and goalscoring ability and record.

Oh, and Fleck is just magnificent. A joy to watch when he's on form. Rapidly becoming one of my all time favourites at United (alongside Billy of course).
