Wilder played a blinder

Whether he worked it out or not. He agreed.

Missing your point to be fair pal???

It wasn't a dig at your post, specifically. Your point about Duffy and Sharp is bang on. It's just that some seem to believe Wilder bases his decisions on opinions posted on a fans forum rather than as a consequence of crafting his management over twenty odd years.

The point is that the level of 'we know best' from people who really haven't a clue is acutely embarrassing. The idea that he's changed the team because of fans' opinions is plain absurd. That's the point. Nobody has been 'proved right' on the back of one game. I'm astonished that anyone thinks they have. Lets stop the nonsense about Sharp. He was anonymous plus a goal today. That vindicates nobody. The triumphalism of some is utterly risible. Wilder was absolutely right to leave him out and he'll leave him out again if he isn't scoring because when he doesn't he offers very little else.

doubt that's the case at all - but it's a bit sad when fans can't express an opinion on what team is picked and how good/bad/indifferent players perform.

UTB

They can, but they need to realise their own limitations. Clough or Shankly they are not. They should also learn not to bleat when someone disagrees with them or sees the weaknesses of their favourites.

Sharp may be anonymous + a goal.
Clarke has been anonymous without a goal.

It’s a great result to say, take away whatever the performance was. To come from behind, dig deep and win the game is fantastic. When Wilder came in all I really wanted was for us to compete, be difficult to beat and give teams a game. To have a squad to be proud of. We have that and we have a manager who wants the best. He won’t get everything right.

I said it last season I feared a bad start as fans would turn because expectation had become silly and unrealistic, and nothing has been more true. Some of the reaction has been a joke. We lost two games and people turned. Funny how we forget where we were two years ago.

I hope we can kick on now and have a decent season.

He was involved in today's game far more than Sharp. I watched it. I judge performances on merit, free from meaningless criteria.

If you can't see what Clarke did today you need to borrow my specs

Clarke did well. He did, but as said in another thread, he's far from undroppable that CW seems to think.

I'd like to mix it up a Bit. Maybe try McG and Sharp, see how that works.

Leon Clarke has not Done enough to warrant playing the full 90 mins for however many consecutive games he has

Does he deserve stick from idiot 'fans' for that? Should we have a crowd vote on substitutions in future?

perspective .. just been on crabs thread and to be perfectly honest all of this petty squabbling is all a pile of shit in comparison.

I said midweek last time we got mullered 3.0 at wolves we beat leeds 2.1 and today we responded again

thats football you lose you stand up and be counted

when some of our fans accept that we can move on

The main thing for me was that we dug in and got the result after going ahead. Showed a lot of bottle. Think about how many times we totally dominated and dropped points last year--today was the opposite.

Still some issues that want sorting, though.
Love this post because that’s exactly how I saw it, some crazy shit been thrown about recently and today they dug in, came back from a goal down and won, not pretty but to me shown some real bollocks today after the first 2 games. Enjoyed the day #UTB

Top work from tufty, now if only Baldock was left footed.
Does he really need to be?

He's always cutting inside as it is.

Wouldn't be a terrible option to try him on the left and give Stevens something to think about. Freemans assist puts another thought in Wilder's head

the nucleus of the promotion season squad are the ones we still rely on most ,I've no problem with that but the next step up in player quality has and is tough to find on our budget .

If wilder can't do it nobody can IMO. Wilder had a right to sound a bit pissed off with some of the stick he's got on here lately.

Fans booed the substitution as didn’t agree with it and then the substitute comes on and wins a penalty and sends us home with 3 points!

Is there any news on McGoldrick's injury? Looked to struggle after being fouled and going down heavy on thigh
