There's definitely a player in there and he looked decent when he came on again after doing the same on Tuesday.

Personally think he's just maybe taking a bit longer to get up to speed with the standard expected but looks like he has a great engine and certainly feel he will have a part to play this season.

My only concern if i was him would be where he gets his chances if Norwood comes in. IMO our back 3 looked good today with Stearman and Egan both playing which means for the 2 MF positions you now have Fleck, Lundstram, Basham, Coutts when he's back and probably Norwood so his chances look limited.
Yeah could have argued previously he might have been able to dislodge Basham from centre half since he played there a few times for Southend, but hopefully Stearman, Egan and O'Connell can cement that partnership and get some stability to back line. If he's up for the challenge though credit to him.

Jeez, what does he have to do to get 90 minutes in the United side? Wilder pursued him for an absolute age and now he is, at best, a 3rd reserve squad player. I know he is no longer anything to do with Southend but it really does seem like a total waste of a good player and the fee you paid. Maybe put him out on loan?

Don't ask RHB. It's as mystifying to us as you. There's a lot of head shaking going on up here.

Ah, so you want him back on loan? ;)

In his cameo today he looked like the player you lot said we’d signed.

Currently almost impossible to see him getting a place in the team yet he's too useful as a substitute to let out on loan.

A kind offer, but no thanks. They say that for every action there is a reaction and Lenny moving on has enabled one of our home grown youth to permanently cement his place in the first team in Lenny's old position. That, coupled with a couple of decent midfield signings means that we have moved on from Lenny, as much as we still love him.

We are almost certain to sign a midfielder this week and then Coutts is coming back which pushes him further down the pecking order.

Feel a bit sorry for him.
When we have a fully stocked and decent midfield, why can't we just do a bit of rotation?

I'd give him a run at right centre back or right wing back

I think he's unliekly to play RWB with the quality of Freeman and Baldock, but I think you're right he'd do well there and likewise at right centre back. I just hope he gets enough football to keep developing. He might not get many minutes at centre mid as there is strong competition there, especially if Norwood signs and Coutts comes back as he was or near it!

He did well the few minutes he was on the pitch, in particular a dangerous and shot that went out for a corner. He has an opportunity now that Evans has gone.

A dangerous what mate? You didn’t say? Was it a dangerous fart or something?

Evans didn’t prevent him getting an opportunity. They both made their debut in the same match, away at Norwich last season. Evans looked class in that game. Leonard was invisible. That’s how it started.

LOL, I must have been tired on the coach back, a dangerous run!

Until the new arrival on Monday, agree he did well and would like to see him get a run of games but fear he may disappear into the background again with Norwood coming in and Coutts coming back ⚔️

Only by those whose thinking is shaky. I think I've mentioned before we have more than our share of daft fans, haven't I Rootshallbloke?

Lenny had a good run and shot today. We promise to use him a bit more this year.

Be good to see him have a full 90 on Tuesday. Been impressed with the small bits we’ve seen this season.

Go on then Pinchy, let me (a daft fan) into your view of the "grand plan". Why did CW take so long chasing a player he hardly uses and what is his plan for him now? Or don't I need to wonder that as I can just rely on your constant refrain of "Tufty knows what he is doing"?

I’d tie him to the 272 bus and give him a run out to Castleton and back. That’d get the bugger fit!
Is he not fit then? What with the live hand grenades that are allegedly used in your training regime I would have thought he would have been lightening fast without the need to enlist the help of the local bus company. He used to be able to out run buses in our part of the country by the way.

With the signing of Oliver Norwood, our rumour machine reckons he is being linked with a move to Millwall, where Neil Harris and Adam Barrett wanted to sign him when he went to Sheffield United instead. Supposedly a loan move.
