Precisely. I really don't see what he brings to the team. It's somehow just been decided that he's a good player with little to actually reinforce that view.
I get what you are saying and stats can be misleading but in this case Baldock is our width- the guy who overlaps and should be crossing balls in.
You cross, it's knocked in, you get an assist.
He's a trier, I really like him and his attitude. I would happily have him come in when Freeman has a knock or for cup games but the style we play means we HAVE TO get more from our wide men.
Duffy bought himself a huge debt of goodwill (deservedly) after the 4-2 but he had some quiet games especially after Christmas. I can understand Wilder’s reticence as it’s a dilemma to pick a ‘luxury’ player given the current pressures. If does play tomorrow he has to be on his A game not drift out like he did at times towards the end of the season e.g. Birmingham away. Fingers crossed on both counts.Duffy has a "god like" status because he is actually a top player. He has incredible ball control and will rarely lose the ball. Is not afraid of being pressed by multiple opponents, he's confident he can get out of it. Has great vision and passing ability. He is missed so much in this squad I don't understand what Wilder has against him.
Didn't Duffy get by far our most assists last season? That isn't a luxury player that's a productive player.Duffy bought himself a huge debt of goodwill (deservedly) after the 4-2 but he had some quiet games especially after Christmas. No chance. He’s not weak, he’s not bad defensively unless he’s up against a top drawer winger. He’s fast as fuck.Again, I think it's far-fetched to describe him as good in any aspect. He's utterly weak, negligent and undisciplined in his defensive duties and is just as costly to this team as Enda Steven's inherent shitness.
Freeman scores and defends. He's not brilliant but I'm far more confident with him in the line-up.
“We had to sell Lee to do other bits and pieces”
Quite concerning?
I think what he means is he couldn't bring in another central midfielder with the numbers we already had in that position - would have been silly.i was just thinking that.
100% I said the same earlier in the week.Absolutely.
We need to work of having players in the box to get the crosses though. I can sort of see why we faff about when I look at the options sometimes. Clarke is usually out wide having passed it to Baldock, so that's who he should be aiming for out of the picture, McG actually seems to position himself well for crosses from what I've seen so that's good, they should both be aiming for him, but other than strikers, Fleck and Baldock, I wouldn't trust anyone else to really finish a fizzed in cross. That's our problem as much as us not crossing.
And a loft, we're so bad at getting to the ball when it's in the air it's unlikely we'll ever get many that way.
I think we ought to be playing more from the corner of the box, sort of Duffy and Fleck areas, because we get down to the corner flag too often, it's predictable.

Freeing up a position means we can upgrade to Norwood.
I feel like if you went one pass back from the assist, like a "Key Pass" stat, then Baldock's stats would be good.
That's not a thing though, but I think he does contribute "key passes" a fair bit.
I'm not adverse to Freeman playing though, or saying Baldock is going to win the Ballon d'Or.
-, had a price on Oconnells head but Brighton dint meet it
- Duffy not playing as we setup in a shape that didnt fit him in, worked against inter milan but not against swansea and boro. If we had won, wouldnt have been a clamour for Duffy to be playing
- Duffy and Sharp are crowd favourites with "god like" status amongst fans, but has to pick side to win

i was just thinking that.
I think Coutts might be featuring against Hull in the league cup.
Good to know he's not one of the 'shitcunts' then.
Can you remind me of the current count, as I get easily confused with who has shitcuntery status.
So much for O'Connell not being for sale. We dodged a bullet there.
As for the Duffy point, you didn't win and you haven't won yet Chris. We are not dealing in hypotheticals. If you keep losing when you leave out our better performers from last season don't be surprised if people are disgruntled.
I remember Nathan Redmond having Freeman on toast for England U21 v Wales U21. I think the argument for playing Freeman would be that he scores more goals. But his goals came in L1.No chance. He’s not weak, he’s not bad defensively unless he’s up against a top drawer winger. He’s fast as fuck.
Freeman against any half decent winger in league one got torn to bits.
this is from last season
- 25m+ coming through the door int he past few years, not spent anything like that (not sure what the point was here?)
The point was that whilst some of his signings have not worked, he has taken a few low risk gambles with the very little he has be given by the owners, especially in comparison to how much financially has been brought into the club since he became in charge.
The manger is not the problem, never has been!
Every player at every club is for sale at the right price. It depends what the price was. If it was that high that nobody would have paid it then he was effectively not for sale. Seems to have worked as we didn't sell him.

Breaking news is that Kev set off from Scarborough around ten this morning to sign some cheques at the Lane. Just as he reached St Mary's roundabout it dawned on him his "lucky biro" had been left at home so he's on his way back to pick it up. Wilders been ringing his mobile to say he can use his Cross fountain pen but the receptions bad and Kev can't hear because he's "going through a tunnel" .
More later.
Shame Rob didn't ask about international scouting, or Juan Pablo Anor
We'll see who comes in here's hoping, but until they're here they're not and we can only have 5 loan players in a match squad and when we reach that we are harking back to the Micky Adams days
