I think it is safe to assume that CW is trying to make amends for what is now safe to say a poor January Transfer Window last season.

Holmes - Was never going to come in and challenge Duffy and Brooks in that position. No doubt cost a fee that could've been used better elsewhere.

Evans - Didn't see where he improved our squad at the time and even more so with the benefit of hindsight over his Utd appearances. We needed & still need a loan midfielder to tide us over temporarily until Couttsy returned.

Leonard - We tried for him in Summer 2017 and ended up getting Lundstram instead because Southend werent playing ball. We ended up getting him January as well as Lundstrum and struggled to accommodate both players since.

Last January is the only time Wilder got it wrong with alot of unnecessary transfers. Cant help but think the fees + salaries spent on Holmes & Evans could've been put to better use for a striker.

Holmes was clearly a mistake and hasn't worked out for whatever reason. There was a rumour his legs had gone and he can't play 90 minutes at the tempo we expect. I'll guess we'll see how he does at Oxford.

Evans was picked to start the first two games. I'm not sure that's making amends.

Leonard is still here and came off the bench against Boro.

I'm confused why you think Wilder is trying to make amends?

His signings since we were promoted have been mediocre at best but if we stay up this season you have to say Wilder has worked wonders.

When you look at what clubs in this league are spending how can we expect anything greater than survival.

We need a new chairman not a new manager.

Given two of the three signings from January are heading for the door already I think we finally have official confirmation that was bad window.

Most of us knew it at the time though.

The fact that 2 of his 3 signings are not in his plans is proof.

I think that trying to move them on is to Wilders credit, he could be stubborn and stick with them & fall back on the "not had any budget" excuse if all went wrong but he has recognised mistakes made and fixing them.

JTW 2019 will be an interesting transfer window.
