Sharp isn’t the answer
Neither is Mcgoldrick or Clarke.

We need a couple of young pacey fowards in the team and we have for sometime. Let’s not pretend that there hasnt been options out there.

Sort it out Wilder!

The answer to me is simple. If someone's playing a stinker, sub them. I don't mean after 70 minutes, I mean after 30 minutes or even half time. This applies to Sharp or Clarke, doesn't matter which way round. McGoldrick is flattering to deceive as well, he's this years Donaldson. Apart from getting his nut onto a few speculative hoofs I don't see much of a contribution from him either. Put him into the mixer with Sharp and Clarke too.

He wasn't good enough for you when he banged 30 goals in. Because you've hated him since he signed.
I hate him? Who is being puerile now?
I didn't think we should have signed him. He has had one good season for us and that was in 2016-17. I still think he wont score many this season. Be nice if I am wrong!

And you conveniently overlook the 21 goals the previous season that stopped the club sliding into oblivion.
Bit of an odd thing to forget for somebody who's keen on remembering dates.

Can't think why....

Billy has to start . He is our best finisher with 64 league goals in his current spell . He is more confident than Leon in front of goal . He is also passionate about the club and makes a better captain on the field .
I don't think Leon should be captaining the side even when Sharp is absent . He is hardly inspirational .As long as we can keep him Jack would be a better choice and is almost guaranteed his name on the teamsheet .
Our strikeforce has been impotent in the last two games . Just one goal in spite of all the pressure against Swansea , and that from George Baldock . Then several spurned chances to get back in the game at Boro .
McGoldrick looks OK but he is unproven for us as yet . Leon is misfiring and his confidence looks low . So Sharp needs to return . And leaving Leon out might fire him up a bit !

When was the last time Sharp has had a good season (for any club) in the 2nd tier?

That seems harsh in the extreme. Since he was signed by Adkins I’d argue he’s had one very good season, one excellent season, and one good season, in that order. The production we got out of him last season was good. Not as good as Clarke, not as good as a prolific Championship striker, but good nonetheless. It remains to be seen if he can continue to be of use to the squad past this season, but I think there’s plenty of legitimate reasons for him to come in Saturday. Frankly if he’d have put in the two performances Clarke has offered so far the reaction would be absolutely horrendous.

Last season.

Talk about Nelsonian blindness.

You can spot these agendas a mile off when it comes to Billy.

Scored nearly as many goals per minutes as Clarke last year. Usual suspects out, at least he cares which gives him a thumbs up on post February Clarke.

Clarke captain? Don't make me fucking laugh

But we don’t have 2 pacey young forwards we have sharp sat on his arse while we play an out of form striker who has’nt cut the mustard since Xmas

You can reply 'nah' to me too if you like, but my answer is also "last season". He was 6th in the ranking of 'minutes per goal', and there were a lot of 'top' strikers in that league that he beat.
