Just been on Sky Sports that we are going to put a bid in of 3.5m.

Aslong as Nugent is prepared to be paid in crisps rather than cash then I am sure the deal will happen.

I've always liked Nugent and he's not doing much at Portsmouth, so it might happen. If we can afford his wages :p.

Just been checking. He signed for porstmouth in July 2007, since then he has made 16 appearances, 11 starts, and scored 3 goals.

So you are definately right, he isnt exactly doing much. Could be a good addition if we could afford him. Proven goalscorer at this level, just hope he hasnt forgotten where the net is after a long absence

Having said that, i noticed on SSN the other day, that Adams said he wasn't going to sell anymore players. Although by this he might mean players directly involved in the first team.

I'd try get a loan move for him. I think 3.5M (if true) is a bit much to splash out on a player who hasn't had a run of games for ages.

True, and considering we sold Beattie for less than that.

I agree that £3.5m is way too much, but everybody knows we're on the lookout for a striker now Beats has gone. It's odds on that other clubs will inflate their prices if we're involved as a result.

oh dear £3.5 million............ just when is this DOF going to arrive at BDTBL ?

DOF? Defender of the Faith, Her Majesty??

Are we signing The Queen? Bit of a coup is that. We can have the coat of arms on the shirts and have 'by Royal appointment to her Majesty the Queen, purveyors of football' on the front of the shirts. She's worth a few bob as well!! :D

i'd be very very suprised if we spent 3.5 million in total this transfer window, can't see us spending much at all. Dont think one is going to happen.....

The new DOF will be Mr Tony Agana. The real Tony Agana, that is ;)

At least that's what I think!

I'd be too busy anyway pal! Being his official stalker, the last I knew he was carving out a career working for a company in the education sector.

i think theres a good chance utd could get nugent and he's a name i said from start. don't listen to media on price though. look how wrong some of them were saying we would get 5 or 6 mill for beattie. cant see nugent going for 3.5 mill. and even if we do pay that, what was the point in selling beattie?? because i can see nugents wages being fairly high. would be good signing though.

I really cant see us paying out anymore than 2Mill for Nugent. And he will be on a decent contract being at a Premiership club.
He's not the type of striker i think we need either! We need someone with pace IMO.

Personally I think this may be thebest replacment for bt. Age is also definetly on his side too. This is what we need,,, a proven goalscorer at our level

He missed a one on one with tottenham keeper but scored great goal in 2nd half. Don't think he's gonna drop down when he's playing and scoring.;)

Probably on a list of alternatives with dozens more should the Waghorn deal not happen. Can't see him coming in as well as.
