Reported on HITC & The Argus that Brighton are eyeing up O'Connell at around £6m. As Flint went to Middlesbrough for £7m & O'Connell's stats for last season were better than his, the report states that this could be an opening bid. HITC talks of him being worth more, even up to £10m, which to me seems a lot. But if the rumours are true, & we could get £8 - £10m fro him I would consider that a good piece of business, if it allowed CW more scope to strengthen the team.

Off to Italy tomorrow on holiday, O happy day!

Won't be leaving imo. His missus has recently signed for Manchester united ladies. So I can't seem them uprooting any time soon.

Having been married for 31 years, I know that Mrs Vicar is not impartial to being swayed by the sound of pound notes, I don't think O'Connell's wife will be any different! So I wouldn't count on any signing hindering any move!

Enjoy your holiday
Thank you!

We would have to pay a similar amount for a replacement and probably pay them about twice what JOC is on just to stand still. It would in no way help to “strengthen the squad”.

Time and again we witness a half-baked rumour spread like wildfire.....the OP takes something that's already been discussed elsewhere, and as for Brighton's interest in JOC, well allow journalists who can't be bothered to do their homework to influence those posters who seem incapable of living without semi-detached half-truths.

Whatever happens with Jack will be determined by Wilder's need to release or bring in players. Time to move on I think.

£8-10 million is not a lot in the current market for a 24 Year old left footed championship centre back who can come out of defence with the ball. Something England haven't found yet. Harry is right footed. Flint is 29 Years old and will have a lower re sale value when his contract expires.

JOC is in his prime. Reading value Liam Moore at £15 million and he's not got JOC's potential. Brighton have moved away from Moore because of the price hoping they can get a bargain from a Club with off the field turmoil. If ever the Club needed to value a player right its JOC. He's worth three times what Brighton are looking to open the bidding with. We can probably afford to tell Brighton to fck off this window but if the dispute is still ongoing in the JTW it may be harder to do. By then we will have a £20 million asset on our books. No brainer Brighton start looking elsewhere.

Brighton keep your speccy eyes off...

I didn't realise that JOC still lives in Liverpool and commutes to Sheffield. Still got roots in liverpool and Mrs just been signed by MUFC. Hopefully a sign he won't be going anywhere.

I wouldn’t believe a word you read on that site. It’s a click-bait forum for wannabe journo’s.
