Am l just overreacting due to the heat, but are the club bigging up Walker, McGuire and the academy as a smoke screen to the lack of transfers.

Other clubs are strengthening i.e Bristol City, Forest and we just have 1 loan signing. We were found out towards the end of lost season and l am really concerned that based on form towards the end of last season, we are in for a tough season.

You don’t know there is a lack of activity. I suspect there is a lot of activity going on, but as yet no results of that activity have been announced.

My view would be that this isn't Chsmpionship Manager so you can't just nip out and buy players.

We're a bit of a paradox in that we're looking to push and break the top 6 and only really require top quality players to add to our decent squad. However our wage budget is still bottom half of the table and I'm assuming that contradiction is what is holding us back..,

It appears Gallagher & Hogan are targets, just about sorting out the right deal, which in our case is going to take longer as the weekly wage we can offer will be less than lesser teams.

Wilder usually has one or two unexpected signings up his sleeve so i'd expect a couple of CB's coming in before the start of the season as well.

The leaks have been plugged well and truly, expect to see players in shirts before hearing anything about signings... it’s how he does things.. and have faith, he wouldn’t have bothered arguing his corner about the transfer kitty if he didn’t have plans.

Given that everyone knows we are a selling club that accepts the first offer for any of our players I think that the lack of activity is to be applauded.

It's the only place I could find a list of transfer activity in a nice sensible layout. Didn't realise it was bollocks.

But anyway, no-ones done much yet is fair I think.

Interesting you say Bristol City are strengthening.

Just sold their best centre half who is also worth about 7 goals per season and their top scorer.

They’ve bought an unprolific forward from Derby, a centre back who scores fewer than Flint and a shithouse fullback.

Not sure how that is strengthening.

Meanwhile, our first XI is relatively unscathed and our best ball retainer is now fit once more.

Depends on your perspective I guess.

Our main problem is will we take the plunge and pay big wages for quality?
