The teams that you refer to have a much better recent football history than us, and will keep trying to be ambitious, unlike us, so yes, I would like owners that would role the dice a bit and just see what a decent amount of investment can do.
If they don't get their supposed targets, is it because they put in ridiculously low bids in the same way our board is always accused of doing? :)

It's not just about fees. Has anyone really noticed that the likes of forest have played with the FFP, but then survived after being reprimanded and are ready to go again? Derby will be the same, they will recover for 3 years and go again. What will we do?

Don't bother answering that, we have a family that won't put any serious investment into trying to get us up. CW has more than likely got a budget to keep this fantastic club in the division again (not so fantastic owners though).

Should Villa be praised for their ambition?

You are talking about parachute payments here, with players still on prem wages, a total different topic of conversation.

It's a perfectly good example, but fine; what about Wednesday then? Should we admire their ambition?

Any football club owners that are prepared to make sensible and calculated gambles on trying to win promotion should be admired, not shot down because it failed, especially when the likes of Derby will now stabilise and go again when the time is right. What will this family do?

I don't answer questions on a football club that is over the city, thank you very much!

Can you define a "sensible and calculated gamble"?

And does it involve a transfer embargo?

What is a transfer embargo, does it really effect the proper owners of football clubs (not the ten bob family that we have got, who are only interested in what they can get out of it for property development)? The proper football club owners have all gone through it (or about to) and they have/will stabilise their club and look at when they can go again to try and gain promotion. They don't spend 6 years in L1 like we did.

But don't all these 'proper' owners all take over struggling clubs and simply spend oodles of money on them, having started off with a shit-load more than McCabe ever had?
And please remember that McCabe has said more than once if the shit load investor had every turned up he would sell.

Well obviously a transfer embargo affects a club - it prevents them signing players.

Do Birmingham have "proper owners"? What about QPR or Leeds?

Property. just one word that the family can't take their selves away from. They see an opportunity and make money out of it. This will bring the club down if things don't turn out right, because the asking fee with the property will be too much for decent and "proper owners" to gamble on.

This family are taking the piss, they always have!

Dirty Leeds are still investing, QPR will now probably go through a transition before going again and Birmingham already have a squad of players that are decent to say the least, just had the wrong managers. Monk will get them competitive, but I want our club to be more than that, I want us to push on.

Bullet dodged perhaps:

1. Had a few injuries
2. He wanted big wages
3. Do we really want another defender for that role?

On the last point, I’d rather we have a midfielder who is good on the ball and may score the odd goal than someone who is an outright defender. Playing Maddison there and still having Duffy in the team excites me far more.

Disappointing. I feel we've been tracking and talking to him for a while, then Forest pop up out of nowhere and chuck more money at him.

Got to ramp up our efforts to get Jay Dasilva now. I'd rather have him at LWB next season anyway.

You don’t half talk some shit.

I'd lay good odds that we aren't even looking at LWB . Why would we be ? We already have an Ireland international in this position and adequate cover for injuries/suspensions .
