Ended up being Player of the Tournament at the Cup of Nations one year too, though apparently it was inexplicable that we signed him that January.

FWIW, in my view he was a good player that simply wasn’t able to show it be it due to our system not fitting his style (a la Britton) or him simply not settling well. He returned of course to the UK long after his potential had emerged when he went to Hull on a season loan – by all accounts he didn’t do much then either.

Didn't really look much in the Premiership, but i think he had to get used to the pace of English football. Pre-season friendly at Lane he looked fantastic and was one i was looking forward to seeing play. Under a week later Robbo had sold him.
