Dealing in pedantry more like. Anyway, now there's a possible charge of plagiarism, I think you'd, quite rightly, move onto that point, as per.

Bit of a "Blades fans at the Lane" moment.

Yes, I’ve only just seen the plagiarism accusations. Who by/where, Woodwardfan?

Well firstly plagiarised would be a bit strong, very strong in fact, although they may ( or may not) have taken a lead from you. But the three quotes you posted as "proof" also contained the arrant nonsense I've commented on.

Call it poor as much as you want, keep on with the old boy superiority but put your spellchecker on please. It's very embarrassing for us older gents to see someone of our generation making simple errors.

The takeover deal is actually agreed other than the price.

Sean. When 'the takeover is finally signed off' has nothing to do with anything we've been on about.

You are 'shifting the goalposts' again.

Some might think you are making sense I suppose but Wilder and his team have a new contract NOW and a bigger budget.

Bet you wish you had gone away for a fortnight:D

Sigh.

Practicing too. Unless you're holidaying in the States of course.

What's that "playing the post" thing you're so proud of ? :)

Last post on this thread, around 50 odd seconds in on Wilders 22/5 RS interview, in answer to a question about what's happened since the last game, Chris says "throughout that period, there have been lengthy discussions with the owners". He also says contract negotiations were going on for some time.

What could it mean?

Always realised how much my support staff helped me over the years. Wife's a good speller too but she doesn't see these - for obvious reasons.

Pleased for you though Sean - you scored a couple of little victories. Bye again.

Don't worry 'You are big enough to handle this' Bye.

It means everything I said above was sound. That's what. My posts were through April and into May.

Unfortunately a number of your implied points have been poorly based as well as irrelevant sometimes. Goalposts and all that; diversions. Spelling corrections apart:)

Wonder why there are no sharks around when needed. No blood , of course. Woops, there's one.

First there was Chrissy Morgan and now Chrissy Wilder. I can't stand this Chrissy thing. Is anyone called Chrissy or is it simply a contrivance that helps a line in a song scan?

Notwithstanding all this I sang very loudly two or three times at Bristol City:

'We want you to stay, we want you to stay.
Chrissy Wilder, we want you to stay'.

And now it looks like he's staying. So it's down to me - against all my better judgement. Nothing to do with newspapers and stuff. I think the Prince was listening .

In fairness Wilder was a Chrissy to quite a few in the game in his younger days, if not necessarily his mates.

I don't imagine Morgs has ever been a Chrissy to anyone other than those trying to fit his name into a chant.

Overall good sentient in your post Esk.

As for the Chrissy thing, it's a contrivance, it suggests that the singer and subject of the song are connected, and no amount of logic or plain speaking will change that one bit where the vocalist is concerned. Where you have high spirits and booze you are faced with an insurmountable object, so good luck to those who choose to embrace this 'brotherly' connection, let's hope it lasts a long, long time.

I assume, or fucking hope more like, that any poster or journalist taking the slightest modicum of credit for this resolution is doing so with their tongue planted firmly in their cheek.

If not, God help them in their fight against delusion and regaining self-awareness.

Must say Wwf, I had my reservations about you but you've pulled one out of the bag again.

Quality posting by a quality poster.

I think Woodwardfan can take a bit of credit for actually trying to do something and taking some positive action, whilst others just stood round and watched, and it was disappointing that others just chose to ridicule what I thought was an excellent and thought provoking post, however I didn’t agree with the Pledge, it does appear that my suggestion on the same thread for a strongly worded letter countersigned by other posters was also a good way to do, so I think I also deserve a big pat on the back as well.

However I do think on this occasion that WWF does deserve some censure, and the responses that he has made to Sean Thornton havent generally be becoming from a poster with the seniority and gravitas of WWF. If I could kindly remind WWF of my signature and this thread he began, just to remind him of the standards that’s he set, not just for himself but everyone else as well

The o/p demeans the work Chris WIlder put into getting the owners to talk and deliver a short term plan to take the Club forward. Nothing on forums or in the media had any impact on the decisions the two owners made, to think otherwise is delusional.

Positions had become entrenched with both sides not talking to each other and that included the manager. CW reminded them he was their biggest asset and they could not afford to lose him. Once Stewart Donald had declared CW as his No.1 target via the local media at the end of April the wheels started to turn again. The EFL can take some credit also in taking their time in agreeing Sunderlands take over. That gave the owners the opportunity to deliver a satisfactory result to CW before the EFL signed off the Sunderland deal.

The only fans who could be given any credit are the ones who didn't renew their season tickets. The uncertainty had an effect on revenue.

Well done to CW for taking a risk. The majority of fans were supportive of his strategy but had little if any influence over the final outcome.

Brownie.

Fair post but let me explain that anybody faced with relentless trolling, mis-information and aggression would find it hard not to react. I did have Sean on 'ignore' for months but he chose to p.m. me with a copy of a very flawed (proven) post which demanded some reaction and correction. Why doesn't 'ignore' stop p.m's?

A couple of weeks ago I decided to 'take off the gloves' and fight 'fire with fire'.

I have not stooped to untruths at all, nor have I used swear words or vulgarity. All I've done is dish a bit back for a change.

Having done that once I did the honourable thing and left the site for the summer.

This today was just a bit of 'unfinished business' and also a celebration of Wilder's new contract and the bigger budget.

If you doubt what I say just take the time to read the three other old threads I have quoted above. So many sharks and others will squirm to think that their behaviour is there to be read, especially now that Wilder is staying and the owners have responded as I had hoped they would. Have a good read Blades!!

Anyway. I'm still staying away until ' at least next season' after this thread so it all becomes academic.

Brownie. I note your own 'I told you so folks' and if that was how it happened, well done!!

Something as big as a fans' coordinated protest has to be a collective effort by nature. It will happen one day, more readily after this effort. Thankfully the result was gained though I expect numbers of fans wrote to the owners individually like me.

If fans at Bristol only helped by 1 per cent then it backed the manager when he needed it both personally and in the image created for the owners.

Biggs and Danny will certainly have re-inforced the sentiments about urgent issues.

Any fan who took the time to write to the owners will have helped to create more 'noise'as will certain threads on here which could have helped the two journalists by the look of it.

Better than tamazies

Not exactly true but a point well made.

There were two threads before Wilder's statements.

I see a slight correlation between the two, but certainly not any causation.

Letters to the owners are unlikely to be read by either of the owners too I’m afraid. Though odds are you’ll get a nice response from someone at the club.

Support for CW on the day by Blades at Bristol was tremendous fuelled by reports CW was going to resign after the game as he was going to Sunderland. That was illogical as the Sunderland takeover hadn't taken place.

CW had already had some assurances prior to the game from the Board and had indicated he was looking to stay another year. He also told the players this after the game.

The catalyst for movement by the owners was the statement of Donald reported in the national press on 2 May. Local media only began to pick up on this the day after when Biggs wrote his article despite CW expressing his concerns on 28 April.

The owners weren't influenced by what Biggs wrote but the National press articles the day before would have given some cause for concern.

As Loughboro Blade says owners don't normally read letters from fans as most Clubs get their fair share everyday.

Bottom line is the new contracts and budget were down to the efforts of CW with a little help from Donald and no-one else.

Well done all those fans who made 'Noise' to keep Wilder.

It worked - be proud !!

Well done Biggs. Well done Danny. You made a difference.

Some said it couldn't be done until the owners settled.

We did it !!

We are still United. It was the only way to keep us that way.

Well done McCabe. Well done Prince.

P.s. Just a bit of 'unfinished business.':)

Take a bow.
