Well done all those fans who made 'Noise' to keep Wilder.

It worked - be proud !!

Well done Biggs. Well done Danny. You made a difference.

Some said it couldn't be done until the owners settled.

We did it !!

We are still United. It was the only way to keep us that way.

Well done McCabe. Well done Prince.

We don't know if CW really intended to leave, or was just playing a game of brinkmanship with the board to be given a better budget. We also don't know if CW read Danny's open letter or Alan Biggs' column. We don't know if fans singing his name made any difference either, he could have been planning to stay anyway.

What the fans making noise does demonstrate is how close the bond is between the fans and CW. Closer than it was with Bassett, Warnock or Porterfield.
 
What did we do! It was Wilders own doing. And it worked! So far. If the owners didn' t have faith in him. He would have been gone.
 
You're all welcome guys, we are just one big happy family really and my efforts for you all are given with genuine love and affection .

Whilst i know there's only a couple of us that deserve the thanks, me WWF Danny and biggsy, we stand shoulder to shoulder, together . We are afterall just the same as you guys ....... normal blokes who love our Club.

I'm not sure how many United fans deserve a well done, in fact some need the opposite:

If I remember right, your FANS ACTION thread was the subject of mockery - you were the only person keeping the thread on track and banging the drum, in a sea of sharks. For that reason, I think a "Well done WWF, the power of fan" thread would be more applicable.

What we do know is that, apart from his RS interview where he expressed understandable frustration about lack of direction from above, CW never mentioned Sunderland (or any other club). He wasn't seen in any clandestine meetings yet a few fans compared him to Warnock flirting with Portsmouth and accused him of disloyalty.

This must have been a very trying time for CW. 'Grass is always greener' etc., but he's conducted himself with dignity. No corporate bullshit, he's truly 'one of our own'.

Do we have a link to this letter or can you point me in the right direction?
 
Now if we draft open letters to McCabe and the Prince about a decent summer transfer budget we'll really know if we made a difference or not...
