Usually the Transfer window in England doesn't officially open until July 1st, this year though as it'll shut before the end of August, it will open from Thursday.

soo... what signings will we be announcing?

Can’t imagine anyone’s coming in until the Board situation is sorted out.

P.s and I can see that taking all summer so I expect very little business mainly based on free transfers

Shuts for PL clubs on 9th August, think 2nd August for FL clubs

Well ...... I suspect that will depend upon how quickly the Board end their pissing contest ....... pity they couldn't have had it 3 months earlier and got it sorted before what is now a key period in the Club's progression. o_O

When the dust settles ..... I hope Tufty will bring in two Championship quality strikers, a commanding CH, a quick strong LWB and Blackman on a season-long loan.

Difficult question to answer at the minute. Doubt we'll sign anyone till late June because of what's going on. Thankfully we don't need many, its more about quality than quantity. Two forewords and a centre back should do us, unless Brooks leaves.

If we’re really going to kick on, you’d reall

Is that right, Silent and not the other way around?

Imagine Wilder gets all his business done and then a PL club comes in a week later and offers 25m for Fleck or Brooks.

I'd think it would be better the other way around. PL clubs get their business done. Then Championship clubs have a week to make a few sensible perm or potentially more likely, loan moves from the top tier.

Then again, since when has logic been important in football?!

Well every player we're going to sign will be playing in the World Cup so nothing will be sorted until after then.

Most likely players from Panama, South Korea etc.

The transfer window date change would be more acceptable if the stupid fuckers hadn't done away with the loan window.

The window shuts just before the start of the season so the EFL starting a week before the Prem is where the difference comes from.

If we are active early on with incomings it's a sign that Wilder is staying imo

Owner meeting put back to 2nd August :D. Some people are still wondering why CW spoke out, this change answers part of it.

Two Championship quality strikers.. that’s approaching £8m - £10m already at least.

Can't remember Clarke or Sharp costing us that much.

I am assuming players aged 24-26 with already a season or so of 10 goals + at this level.

Madine cost £6m and he’s bang average at very best.

How many players are there in that age bracket that you would call a Championship quality striker? Can't be too many of them anyway and why would they need to be within that age bracket? Out of the top 6 scorers in the league this season only 1 is within that age bracket. Surely if they're capable of scoring the goals it doesn't matter how old they are or how many they've scored previously.

Not that you're wrong about how much such a player would cost but Madine shouldn't be used as any sort of yardstick. Nobody but Warnock would have paid that much for him

Each.

Neither could honestly be regarded as "championship quality" when we signed them, imo. Both players have been somewhat resurrected.
