Over the years, I must have read hundreds of posts on BU saying "Just back from a x day ban for saying something I can't repeat on here". Having never been banned myself, I was always curious about what foul deeds these people had actually committed to earn such a punishment.

Well, now is your chance to set the record straight. Who got banned from BU and what for? ;)

P.S. Nothing libellous, I wouldn't want you to get banned from here as well!

I got banned on my third post or so for my views on Jody Morris. I called him something for which he was never actually convicted. At least I think I was banned, I couldn't log in for a couple of days certainly.

Early in my postings, I used the word "bollocks". A few minutes later I got an email from webbo telling me off. He made an edit and left the message up there though. It was an act of leniency that few enjoyed...

Called Len a rude word. Would probably have got away with it on other forums, but looking back i should have been more mature instead of abusing him. Makes no difference anyway. He always returned with the same rants !!

Haha... we'd definitely have a word with people first just asking nicely if they could possibly edit their posts :) It isn't a problem we tend to have...

Nah, bollocks is tame :D

Yeah... that's really the only thing we usually have to deal with.

We operate on a three strikes basis. After three strikes (of which you will be aware, because you receive a PM on every warning) you get a week long holiday. Any further strikes after that and it's a permanent ban. We've only ever banned a handful of people permanently.

Amazingly, I was never banned from BU... this was despite Foxy using my log-in for a while because he was banned for some petty reason :)

Ooh now, where do I start..? It was mostly for the most trivial and petty reasons. If anyone finds the following reasons hard to believe, as did I at the time, then I still have most of my emails arguing the toss with webbo.

Once for a very veiled reference to anal sex (something like 'Bowls from the pavillion end' I think), once for using the word 'fek '. I emailed webbo and informed him that it's common language on Father Ted, a family sit com and he just said it's insinuating the F word... I ask you?!? Once for using asterixes in the word b****cks, once for something - I know not what - that I said during a light hearted conversation with puppet about guitarists and politicians... I know there's more but those are the ones that stick in my memory.

I don't think webbo liked me in the slightest, probably because most of my posts were jokey and nothing to do with football I guess.

I had the impression that Webbo was a 60 year old man, as he couldn't just let things go.

Never got banned from BU, just tended to read as whenever i posted i was pretty much ignored by the cliques on there, one of the main reasons why i'm glad it's finally gone.

I got a ban for referring to Bert as a *******.....actually I can't remember what I called him, but I got a ban anyway!
Also, I got a ban for posting a link to one of the internet sites which streams live games.
When I asked Webbo when the ban would be over he asked me to apologize; big mistake, he received some 'comments' and I rode out the ban!

In my younger days I used to be banned more often than not, all pretty much fair enough, i've had one or two during the past two years which I think were probably for letting others know of ways to listen/watch games or highlights.

Also, I got a ban for posting a link to one of the internet sites which streams live games.

Just for reference, whilst not as draconian as elsewhere, we do ask that links to streams are not posted. We've already had run in's with Football DataCo regarding a number of things and we'd rather not have the hassle of more legal threats :)

My first ban was for posting a link to the old London Blades message board. My second was when Czech Blade got banned for doing the same thing and I started a campaign to Free the Leytonstone One. Third was for using the phrase "sucking off" and fourth and life ban came when I gave Highbury Blade my login details after he got his life ban.

Youll have to keep an eye on me ;-)

That's right John! It was crazy, all I did was to post a link to the, then newly set-up LondonBlades site for any exiled Blades living down here. I was Leytonstone Blade then and the 'Free The Leytonstone One' was bloody funny!

When BU came into existence and the old SUISA (Viewpoints) site was still up and running - I think they were the only two Blades websites at he time, could be wrong - I was on my first ever dose of steroids (quite a large dose) and I didn't realise the effectit would have on me when I mixed them with alcohol!

I posted as Football King on one site, got into an argument and went on to the other to publicise the feight and eventually couldn't log onto either site.

Got banned for something else as well and I think that was for telling somebody to f off.

Mind, you that was several years ago and I'm now well used to the virtual world we exist in on these forums.

I got banned a few yrs ago and never went back on it, the guy Webbo who used to run it and not sure if he still did?
Anyway i got banned because i posted "why do people get kicked off for nothing" and suprise i got kicked off for nothing!!
Thought it was funny at the time but then fell out with webbo and he got a little personal and blamed me for something i never did and trust me it was shocking. I saw him a little while after at Frechville for a United Friendly and i went after him but he hid behind Micheal Brown and Kozzy so i got back behind the barrier and told him i would catch him one day(think Deb's and colin saw this) anyway he's not a very nice man and one day he wont be looking and i will get my revenge!!!

Is 'Webbo' an official at the club then??

Links to another site posted by other people not me ! A site that I was/am involved with got me a permanant ban

Webbo was and is a socks and sandles man enough said

I have met Step a few times and he seemed OK. That didn't prevent him from banning me a number of times though. I think the last one was for swearing at Mill Hill Blade in a non-footie related debate.

He is officially the club's webmaster but is employed by Windmill, the web developers.

I was banned for putting wtf in a post and also for putting a link up to a betting site showing the odds for winning the Championship a couple of seasons ago in a thread on our chances.

Ah, what a breath of fresh air, no more 100+ threads woven into a boring mess by five or six people. Thank you BU for crashing under the weight of your own inbred mediocrity. I am already warming my old bones beside the fire of this wonderful site, come on you red and white wizards.

Christ, what didn't i get banned for?

Mostly for swearing in the early days, but one day i found myself banned for suggesting technical improvements that could be made to the site, which i thought was just ridiculous.

After that i started to push the envelope a little bit to see what trivial things i could get banned for. I think i clocked up about 50 bans before that fateful night when i came in after a mammoth sunday drinking session, and saw yet another anti-mccabe rant by true blade. In a 6 word riposte 50% of the words were on the 'Seven words you can't say on television' list - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seven_dirty_words

My only surprise, given that many of my bans seemed to kick in late at night, was that it stayed on til webbo got to work in the morning.

I still read BU, just cos i found the threaded style a bit easier to see which directions threads were going off in, but certainly in the last few months the quality of the posting went downhill.

I had a ban for saying something about Ian Bishop that I shouldn't have, one for calling Stafford Blade (I think) a very naughty word after the Everton home game (that post got mentioned a few times afterwards including by spaffmonkey -who was that?) and numerous times for mentioning William Hill (even when I was just answering another posters query).

My favourite all time BU post. They should have framed it and hung it up in the ticket office...

Got banned for posting too many youtube links. Webbo had warned me a few times before my ban
