Fucking awful. Where do the keep digging these twats up from? We weren't great today, but hard to get into a rhythm when that twat is blowing his whistle every 2 seconds, and then allowing Preston to take 5 minutes every goal kick, free kick and substitution. Been some poor ones this season, and he's right up there with the worst of them.

Both refs allowed their keepers to constantly waste time all match, then booked them in the final minutes. Absolutely spineless. Book them when they start doing it and they will not do it or risk getting sent off. Do it at the end and you've not penalised them in the slightest or stopped them time wasting.

Preston were using time wasting tactics from the start, allowing the ball to run past them at throw ins and free kicks, kicking the ball away etc., just got even worse after they scored. I couldn't watch that every week.

Firstly, the referee and his linesmen were totally to blame for not acerting their authority a lot earlier in the game. My problem with the Preston players is how was all there pantomime antics in the “spirit of the game”. I wasn’t upset by the loss but by the way our national game is heading. If that’s meant to be entertainment, well it’s not for me. I get totally hacked off if we start the time wasting with 5 mins to go, but that may be just me.
Just a point but credit to Billy Sharpe today. Looked up for it, got stuck in and chased everything, and his first touch and control was excellent. A credit to the team.

I don't think anyone is blaming the ref for our performance, we didn't lose because of him but you have to agree the quality of refereeing had been poor this season. My piss was thoroughly boiled by that waste of oxygen with a whistle today and it hasn't been the first time this season.

I never understand this comment. Both United and the ref can be poor in the same game, the two aren’t mutually exclusive. Cheating from the opposition and ref shouldn’t be ignored just because we didn’t deserve to win.

As said previously, not blaming the ref for our defeat in any way, just the basic in-action to stop players blatantly taking the piss until a time when he knows his action will have no consequence, but he can write in his report that he dealt with time wasting by issuing a yellow card. Too honest,too nieve, too attacking too entertaining, too many opposition goalkeepers have had too many man of the match performance against Us too many inept Officials ,just saying what's inside like.

Don't for one minute blame the incompetent tosser in the middle for our defeat yesterday, but for me he was just a typical ref. To a man they are slow, unfit, spineless and generally completely unfit for purpose.

Preston were as bad as, or even worse than Norwich for blatant and obvious cheating. If he had (correctly) given yellows for every incident of simulation or time-wasting they would have finished the match with 6 players on the pitch. Their keeper in particular should be thoroughly ashamed of himself, but he wouldn't be able to do it if we had competent and fair referees.

Just like vs Norwich he ignored it for 92 minutes, then gave 1 card for time-wasting right at the end, and doubtless patted himself on the back at full time for a job well done.

I would honestly sack the lot of them from prem to L2 in summer, and invest a large amount of money on training a new bunch, who are told from the word go that their well-payed job is gone if they fail to punish things like this.

Can anyone explain why their keeper was seemingly allowed to restart the game from his hands when to most of us the ref had blown his whistle for some infringement or goal kick?
Blew up for our kick to be taken again because of a moving ball then one minute later let's them take a kick with a moving ball! This type of thing all game with no consistency is what makes fans blood boil.
