I wish he'd stop using the word 'group'. It's either 'squad' or 'team' or 'starting 11' or 'the players'.![]()
I suppose modern management speak Is the pole opposite to your chosen pseudonym Nicolaus.

I get where you're coming from Swiss but I listened to the interview and the boardroom stuff was the biggest thing he said from that interview.and therefore was worthy of the headline. What else could the headline say? Leon's back for Saturday! That might have being valid but its likely to be a dead rubber and the boardroom debacle is the most important thing we sort out.
You can tell from the interviews that Wilder is being very diplomatic and I would guess he is desperate for it to be sorted out as it effects his team planning for next season and much more.
A realisation that we're not ready, presumably based on current form, is hardly the same as these mythical "fans" not wanting us to go up or being joyous that we hadn't.
It's often those who got giddy earlier in the season who are now doom and gloomers saying the squad isn't good enough and bizarrely suggesting it's the fault of other fans who took an optimistic but guarded view rather than looking up pubs to go to on PL away trips just three months into the season.
Big in what sense? Wilder isn't involved in the ownership talks. Its an almost irrelevant statement aimed at click-baiting
Wilder was commenting at the end of the season with a little bit of a summary, but with a look ahead to the weekends game.
Wilders stand out comment of relevance was that he wants us to go out and give the last two games a real go as a thank you for this seasons support.
I guess we should be thankful that they didn't use this:
"Wilder: I don't always pick the right team"
The boardroom stuff is the biggest thing happening to the club, even before when we could make the play offs. So naturally as the manager of our club, Wilder's views on the ownership are very important, because if Wilder's not happy then United are vulnerable to him leaving wouldn't you say?
They wouldn't use the Wilder doesn't always pick the right team because it was an honest admission that Wilder can't get it right every time but no manager can and its often only with hindsight that a selection seems good or bad. Wilder and Giddings get on well and Gidds would have being a total arse to do that. We're lucky to have Radio Sheffield in my view, Giddings especially.
I can understand 'we're not ready', in all scenarios apart from ours. Promotion from conference to League 2, League 2 to 1 etc...where the financial benefits are minimal.
However, the financial gains for promotion to the Premier League should give anyone a chance of 'being ready'. Even in the worst case scenario and relegated on 11 points like Derby, it would set us up for a good crack the next season providing the money is invested wisely. Look at the like of Burnley these days.
100m changes that for any team if spent correctly.
It's ridiculous for anyone to turn down an opportunity for that. I seriously don't get the whole 'we're not ready for promotion' bollocks.
..makes one wonder how much all the boardroom unrest has affected the management team...
The Prince says he has backers but for some reason won't reveal to McCabe who they are hence McCabe not playing ball. It's highly unlikely a "decent" contract doesn't set out various scenarios on which a price may be calculated for the shares, dependent on the trading figures and more importantly league position. The property price etc will be subject to professional valuations. As it's now moved to litigation then clearly someone has changed their mind and/or tried to move the goalposts. I really don't understand what you expect them to say at the moment.
Irrespective of our current position we know KM doesn't have the money and as Forbes magazine put the Princes wealth at £144m a few years ago, we know he doesn't appear to have either. That's a bigger concern for me.
I'm sure a lot is the honest answer but saying that they're totally professional and I don't think we're unlikely to not made the play offs because of the background stuff. The players will be focused on the football but next season's planning is going to be based on the budget that may well be changed after the ownership is sorted out. Then there's Brooks situation which no doubt will rumble on all summer and he'll possibly leave near the end of the window and we'll be left with little time to spend the money! That's a big fear for me, although not as big as the ownership debacle.
Wilders stand out comment of relevance was that he wants us to go out and give the last two games a real go as a thank you for this seasons support.
I keep hearing 'blades way' mentioned esa, when I first read it I thought it was a new bypass around Bramall Lane, still not sure...just when we were flying, back in the Champ, this shit kicks in...'it's the Blades way'.![]()
Who would that be then?
But the teams that will get promotion - Wolves (£60.6m), Villa (£67.8m), Fulham (£37.4m), Derby (£41.1m), Middlesbrough (£62.7m), even Cardiff (£18.6m- nearly four times the amount we've spent) etc. have already spent the thick end of £100m to get there - you've got to spend money to make money. Plus, the minor detail that all these teams have owners that make McCabe look like a pauper - even Shahid Khan at lil' ol' Fulham... Guo Guangchang, the chairman of Fosun Group (owners of Wolves) has a personal wealth of £4.1 billion. Tony Xia is a Chinese billionaire whose Recon Group bought Villa for £76m. Here's the new reality in English football. Not 'bollocks', just reality.
The only time we'll be 'ready for promotion' is if/when we get seriously wealthy backing. That way, when a pivotal player like Coutts gets injured, we don't apply a 'sticking plaster' to the problem, we buy in as good as, or better. At the end of 2017, The Fosun Group said they 'would spend whatever it takes' to get Wolves promoted. C'mon, McCabe. Get thi hand in yer pocket...
PS, just seen your post Sean Thornton .

He wants United to go out and give every game a real go. Standout line by far was boardroom stuff

We are always ready for the PL missed a great opportunity to go up.No joy at all, Cerberus Blade . More a realisation that we're nowhere near ready for the PL.
I guess from a journalistic click bait perspective then it will be the most interesting part...
We are always ready for the PL missed a great opportunity to go up.
Boardroom bollocks meant CW shopped at Lidl instead of Waitrose the season peters out into nothing.
No don't think so just a consequence of the owners falling out.Is that a legal veto that McCabe has? It sounds a bit odd to me.
HilariousTo be fair, he wouldn't find many good footballers at Waitrose either.
