I think that he's contributed very little, but what he has has been priceless, that said I also think he should be one of the players to go at the end of the season.
Moving forward, I think Wilder should be looking to find a striker that's already played in a 352 set up or someone that's so fast and solid it doesn't matter??

He's contributed 7 points.

Not bad in the grand scheme of things.

Gets tin hat ready...

I think I'd rather have Ched than Donaldson on the bench.

He's not really added anything in the last few cameos and he's missed some absolute gems which would have put us in contention.

Wilson also looks a bit weak and that one goal aside vs Norwich, he doesn't add a great deal. His scoring record vs Brighton was pretty abject too.

Ched seemed to be just getting into it at Ipswich and he is more mobile than Donaldson and stronger than Wilson. If you want a poacher you'll send Billy on first anyway. If you want some trickery you've got Holmes and Duffy. I'd say Donaldson is pretty much done at this level now.

Hang on to that hat. If we're talking mobiles, Ched's a Nokie 3310 to Donaldson's 1st gen iPhone. Donaldson is a better shout for away games because he's our fastest player and I agree that he's not the best solution in home games - but still better than Ched. That's not an anti-Ched thing. It's just having eyes.

Ched over Don? Give me strength...............

not been overly impressed recently but overall for the season and what he has contributed (so far ....maybe more !) i think he has been a good addition for the money
vital goals at Norwich, Sunderland and Villa

I'm not sure why Billy never gets a run out as a sub . For me his movement and goal scoring threat is missed and would give defenders something different to think about

Because we were under the cosh a bit and playing deep so you need someone with a bit of pace up front in that situation perhaps?

Its time to support everyone now , we lose a match and I think this season is over , so come on , get behind them all and lets get the atmosphere rockin !!!!! Up the foookin Blades!!

I have it on good authority that the reason no one battered an eyelid was that, whilst they had plenty of batter left, they had simply run out of eyelids. This was due to an unprecedented demand from our visitors from Middlesborough who, apparently, are noted for their sophisticated palates.

The same source assures me that they will be back on the menu for the next match, alongside old favourites like swallow's hearts and hedgehog foreskins.

Anyone think we could rely on the Don for a PO final goal?

Anyone think he'd do a better job than Craig Beattie?

sometimes these four minute cameo appearances are a let down , we should be expecting two overhead kick goals and a bullet header in that time.
watched messi give a 90 minute cameo at Roma on Tuesday and he looked just as bad, wants selling

He's hardly the biggest problem.

The fact that we have no fucking idea what to do when the other team is on the attack is more of a problem.

If we weren't needing a 2 or 3 goal margin in order to win every week then maybe the strikers wouldn't be under so much pressure to score.

Well said.

We have conceded more goals than any other team in the top 11, yet there are still those on here who believe that all of our problems lie in the striker department, despite the fact that we have the most prolific pairing in the league in Leon and Billy with 29 goals between them.

Look deeper, folks.

We're lucky our ageing strikers have surpassed expectations this season otherwise we might have been at the other end of the table.

But...but...Bolton?

GLTTL as he’s a quality fella. Not sure he’s Champ level.

I don't know I am quite happy to see he still got him self a contract at a championship club. When he played well he looked really good and really quick, towards the back end of the season didn't look half as good think he picked up a knock and never really recovered from it possibly due to age. Can't knock the lad though got us a couple of vital points that took us close and made it so we still had a lot to play for Sunderland and villa spring to mind. GLTTL hoping he does well think fitness is the only issue for him if he can stay fit he will score goals I'm sure.

I actually thought Donaldson did pretty well for us given the circumstances (age / fee etc.). I think he could have “done a job for us” again this year if the level of our ambition was to hover around mid-table once more. Which is why it pleased me to see him released. No hard feelings, we’re just obviously aspiring for better. He’ll be an alright signing for Bolton.

Got to say I USED to like the fellow now he’s become a bit of a dick , shame , sign for any bar the pigs or Bolton and he’d be welcome down at the lane

He just needs a full pre-season!

I'm kinda sad about this but more money in the man's pocket, hopefully he's been setting s few quid aside so he can retire comfortably.
