Seems one of their fans lived in Sheffield and visited both Bramall Lane and Hillsboro.
Based on his experience here’s what he thought of the Sheffield clubs (taken from their forum).

I lived in Sheffield and it was done out of warm feelings to the place & team.

As said before,I like the Blades, went to a few games when I lived there, and they were a lot like us - mostly working class, passed the club down through the generations, rain or shine, saw the humour in being shit and didn't take it all that seriously, but passionately got behind their team and could create a very partisan atmosphere.

In contrast to Wednesday - who I found to be supported by more middle-class types from the suburbs, who really did think their shit didn't stink and believed the likes of Millwall & Sheffield United were below them, despite being bang average for the last 50 years.
I call them the Crystal Palace of the north!

I see you've managed to find the one neutral fan that prefers us to Wednesday*

Good read, but "middle class types from the suburbs"? Last time I was in a suburb like theirs there were apes throwing their own shit around and their keeper was on his way due to it being feeding time.

I have seen that Millwall fans quote before. It was wrote last season I think.
Still at least the guy called it right.

In view of the mutual admiration between the two clubs, I think it would be a good idea to have unsegregated seating on Saturday and to let us mingle....

P.S. at a Blades v Millwall game in the 60s it was the first (and only) time I'd seen a hatchet produced at at football match.

To see if it’s the kind of post that people take the piss out of porktalk for and it’s exactly that.

Touché Derek, touché

I took it from the Millwall vitalfootball forum.
Assumed it was post from this week but can now see t’s an older thread that’s been resurrected.

Those quotes from the Millwall fan were originally posted on their forum Dec17.

Obviously it’s not THAT important really
But still think it’s interesting how neutral fans perceive the Sheffield clubs.
I’ve had similar feed back from fans of other clubs.

Also a significant point is that the Millwall fan was chatting to other Millwall fans on their forum.
He wasn’t posting on a Blades or Owls forum trying to cosey up to or wind up opposite fans.

This was posted on their forum two years ago. I've never seen a more perfect description

I lived up there and they are a decent, passionate bunch and have been totally sold short by their board. They’ve sold and sold good players and replaced them with crap.

Their dynamic with Wednesday also reminded me of ours with Palace. One the working class, partisan club that could laugh at itself…the other the suburban, up their own arse bunch of sanctimonious cunts.

The reason most neutrals prefer the pigs to us is because the pigs don't have any of their own rivals.

They are just a bunch of goonies who team up with the likes of West Ham etc; because they hate us. Do they actually hate a team which stems from nothing to do with us. I can only think of Leeds.

That is perfectly summed up.

Suburban is probably a more apt insult against them than middle class, after all many of their fans are downright scruffy scrubbers from the wastelands known as south Barnsley.

Ah it is, nah get darn t’ chip oyle and get me three fish cakes, 10 woodbine and a good pinch of snuff.

“suburban” sounds too posh for the scruffy scrubbers, “wastelands” is more “apt”
