We are fortunate to have two decent goalkeepers but for me Blackman is the better goalkeeper. He has also improved hugely as the season has gone on, in particular his distribution. Moore is alright, but has had a couple of wobbles these last two games. In particular in the last minute yesterday when his weak punch led to a chance for Middlesbrough, for me he should have caught it.
I would start with Blackman on Saturday.

When we defend corners or crosses in the box I often feel nervous with Moore.
He always tries to punch out instead of catching a cross.

Blackman always looks so calm. He doesn’t even seem to jump but he’s such a giant that he easily catches every cross.

I’m satisfied with Moore, think he’s an average Championship goalie
But I’d say Blackman is slightly better.

I know that CW has already told the press that the shirt is Moore's to lose for the remaining games. Probably to give the lad some confidence as he will be here next season whereas Blackman possibly not. It is also probably to teach Blackman a lesson in that if you do something daft to get sent off you can't just walk back into the side once your suspension is up.

However whilst the above couple of points have merit, I hope CW looks at the bigger picture here and simply picks his best keeper available for the remaining games of the season. Hopefully CW is ruthless and brings back Blackman (sorry Simon but I've more confidence in Blackers in between our sticks).

Blackman, although Moore was assured last night. I wouldn't take issue if he kept his place.

I think Moore has improved this season compared with last given the competition. But Blackman is the better option.

Tough pick for Saturday- both have made a mistake in recent games.

Got to be Blackman.

Although I have a degree of sympathy for Moore. It's not easy when your outfield players are incapable of handling being attacked and display such inept bellenditude at times.

The Oxford English dictionary introduces the following words in the latest compilation:

Bellenditude

Moore is a Championship reserve keeper and Blackman is a potential Premier League stopper.

Wilder can say what he likes to keep morale up but Blackman is far more imposing and far more likely to pull off a blinding save like he did vs Leeds to keep us in it or against Forest.

I watched the Barnsley equaliser again. I don’t see why Moore didn’t go with two hands and catch it. It was struck from distance, it was on Hammil’s weaker foot and wasn’t travelling excessively and it wasn’t miles away from him either. It was terrible decision making, nevermind execution.

Blackman just brings more authority to the role. Look at the above comments. Not one suggests Moore is better.

Both Blackman and Stearman come back in if the latter is fit. Without a shadow of a doubt.

When Willder had a straight pick earlier in the season he went with Blackman, the difference in quality is even more obvious now.

I'd be Moore (ha!) interested to hear from anyone that DIDN'T want Blackman straight back in the team?

if we had Blackman in last night, those last few minutes defending the long throws and corners is like having an added defender--simply due to his height it gives us that extra something to defend with--.

For once it seems our forum is unanimous that Blackman is the better of the 2 whilst Moore is acceptable cover for injury/suspension but not for the full season.

If only we could thrash out a deal with Chelski to secure Blackman in the summer....was it Howard Kendall who once said you build from the spine of the team outwards?

Blackman.

I really like Moore, he was brilliant last season and think he is a decent enough back keeper at this level but whenever teams start firing crosses into the box or take shots from distance I worry with him in goal. Blackman is less vocal but much more assured in himself.

Blackman is the better keeper by a country mile. And we really need to sign him in the summer

Moore is starting to look nervy to me. He panicked with the first two long throws last night, spilling one then randomly punching the other out for a corner. He's staring to remind me of Long when he got the yips.

Have to hold my hand up tho. I slated him for the second against Barnsley, but watching it back the shot takes slight deflection which results in it coming off his arm rather than hand and dropping to a Dingle.

Agree with marginal preference for Blackman. My impression is that the popularity of each of them on here goes up when they miss a few matches - absence makes the heart grow fonder.
