How has no one picked this lad up at this level sooner? He is sheer class, his dribbling, agility, stamina and work rate is something to behold. I thought he was one of the best players on the pitch today and has been consistently this season.

If we don’t go up this season I can see it being tough to hold on to him for long because he’s a Premier League player in waiting.

Absolutely. He looks no different in the 90th minute than he does in the 1st. One of the fittest players in the division, never mind in our squad. If he can add some goals to his game, who knows how far he can go.

If he improved his final product and stayed at the top of his game, he'd be off like a shot to someone beyond our means of competing.
Yep and I wouldn’t put it past Wilder and Knill to help him make this improvements in time.

Freeman had one hell of a season last season, but I’ve barely given him a second thought since Baldock came in to the side and I don’t mean that to Freeman’s detriment as I’m a huge fan.

Compare him to that Fabio, eff me. How he's still playing at this level is beyond me, can't believe he was rated by Fegie at one point. And that Traore, I'm sorry but his end product is embarrassing. All good being quick and beating a man but he has no football brain.

His level of fitness and stamina is incredible, will definitely be interest in him from the premier league before too long.

Feel sorry for Freeman though. Without those injuries, I think he'd have held onto his place. Chuffed for Baldock though but as Foxy says, more end product and we'd struggle to keep him.

Definetly one of our most consistent performers over the season along with fleck. Always a minimum 7 out of 10 for me. Probably won't get a look in at player of the season award but would be in my top 3 easily.

I really don’t want to put a downer on this after he’s played well but I think we are going a bit over the top here. He’s good, but a right wing back should be scoring more than one goal and getting one assist in a season - which I believe is what he’s on. He’s far better than Stevens on the other wing, but best full back in the league? Nope.

100% effort every game, heart on sleeve performances and never shies from the ball...only thing lacking is better decision making and consistency in his final ball...this kid cares and it shows. If it’s not going for him, he keeps plodding away

You can tell he loves this club. Showed great passion at the end of the game.

Sessegnon aside I don't think there is anyone better.

Can't fault his effort but he needs to be assisting and scoring more at this level.

He has had a great season and held his own defensively, it is not often he makes a mistake.

Anyone know how close freeman is to fitness?

Really like Baldock but I thought his form dipped a lot after xmas and there are aspects in his game which are better than freeman’s, but I would’ve loved to have seen more of freeman this season too

I’d say he’s definitely the signing of the summer, came in as cover/competition for Freeman but through injury has been a regular starter and we have seen no issue whatsoever. He’s just slotted straight in and at no point all season has anyone questioned his place.

Top class and testament to the improved recruitment recently

Would love to see us sign his brother who you’d assume has similar work ethic, energy and drive.
Playing together could give them an extra impetus and encourage them to stay at BDTBL

I really rate Baldock but if you look at his stats he has suprisingly few assists for how good his general play is. Freeman I feel has a more direct, aggressive style of play which also benefits us, albeit in a different way.

By no means slating Baldock, he's one of our most consistently good performers, and also still young and in his first season for us. I just think he needs to add more end product to his excellent movement, dribbling, passing game.

Assist can be overrated metrics in fairness.

Baldock runs three quarters of the pitch with the ball, plays it to someone in the box for then to layoff and another to tap in.

In that case, Baldock gets no credit for owning about 90% of the possession in the move.

How many cross drop clean to a man who slots away?

Many get dedlected or layed off or second balls seized upon.

Certainly he’s very good at eating up territory and his running down the right has been a huge plus with Freeman out. It seems an age since getting Brayford in seemed a good idea. He must have cost a quarter of that fee and is doing it a league higher for us!
