Yes it was next to the Thames which is nice but I've never been that keen on Craven Cottage. I remember the big open air away end they had from years ago. I've seen us play there four times at least I think and score once and lose on every occasion. But last night near where I stood there was one large step bigger than the other steps on the gangway. A lot of Blades were coming in late after beer (there was a problem with the underground line to Putney Bridge) and sure enough one Blade went tumbling and banged his head against a seat. Good job the seats were plastic. He could easily have split his head open. Also the stewards were being jobsworths. Still the performance of the night came from the Blade who fell and banged his head yet managed to keep his pie up. He got back on his feet pie intact.

I walked from Earls Court because of the tube problem. I didn't have a drink and managed to trip on on that step but didn't fall. It's a bad accident waiting to happen

Yes several tripped on it but one fell and it could have been a nasty fall. The trains were stopping at Parsons Green the stop before Putney Bridge. But they made one exception and allowed one train through after initially telling everyone to get off at Parsons Green and luckily I was on that one or I would have missed kick off as well.

Lucky I didn't go then, as I'm the person most likely to trip over something like that, even completely sober! My mother used to say I could trip over a matchstick.

There were hundreds of people trying to get on the train at Earls Court. All the doors were obstructed by the crowd of people. It stood there for at least 5 minutes and I didn't see any prospect of it moving any time soon and knew it would take 40 mins to walk, so rather than waste time there, I set off walking.

Out of noseyness, does anyone know why the older gentleman got manhandled out of the away end at final whistle? Seemed a strange one.

You're entirely welcome.

It wasn't me - btw :)

Glad to hear! ;) In retrospect, i'm not looking for info, it was just odd. I'd noticed he'd been sat at the front with a younger bloke in the emptier section, and then the next time he caught my eye, he's in a headlock being dragged towards the police/exit in the corner & the younger bloke appeared to be shaking the hands of the stewards.

I'm glad I didn't go because I would definitely have fallen arse over tit and smacked my head!!!. Not a good idea after recovering from neurosurgery. Lol. I've never really liked the ground TBH. I've been twice. UTB

It's one of the great shames of this season that QPR & Fulham away were both mid-weekers. Both are great weekenders.
Actually - I've been working in London regularly on a Tuesday so that made it a little easier for me.
The great shame from those two is no points and no goals :(

Yes - we moved towards the front, near the goal, in the second half.
There's nothing sinister in it.
The younger lad was upset earlier about a Supervisor when the third goal went in.
The bloke (blue jacket under high vis) stood up and put his arms out wide in what seemed to be a celebratory gesture. Flicking his fingers upwards.
In fact, I understand that he does this to encourage all the stewards to get to their feet an be vigilant when a goal is scored against the away team in case anything kicks off.
The younger guy was complaining to others that the Supervisor was inciting 1,500 Blades fans (and I can see his point - the gesture should be changed as it could be misconstrued - as in this case). Anyway - the older bloke still hadn't cottoned onto this and was suggesting something be done about it to other stewards, at the end. He went a little too far and a couple of bruiser types decided to wade in and force him to calm down - by ejecting him.
All a bit sorry, really.
A misunderstanding that could have been handled differently by both sides.

Me too, there were plenty of us! Did a 40 minute journey in 30, had a right dab on by the time I arrived about 5 minutes after KO.

Great views of the boat race.
Is that a

face

Bloke next to me got evicted for drinking a beer. His defence was he'd just walked up the stairs and no one had stopped him. Cue a swarm of jobsworths who took rather too much pleasure in evicting him...

Should have brought a hip flask like the rest of us!!
