In Wednesdays position it makes sense. Dead season so who cares? The prize of premier league football is a lot bigger than another £50k 4 times a season when big clubs want more tickets. Keep the home advantage

But we had over 25,000 blades last night? And it was a near sell out against villa. Why give them away when we can sell them ourselves

The away club only collects the booking fees. Long gone are the days when the away club took a share of the gate when the big boys started crying and threw there toys out of the pram and wanted every penny they could get and fuck the rest

Doesn't the performance of Wilder's team week in week out emphatically contradict the assertion that "football is about money these days"?

Was thinking that as well. For the big games we sell a lot of seats on BLUT, if we gave that over to the away fans for these "big" games there would be Blades that couldn't get tickets. On top of that there have been occasions I think when the Westfield was closed for security reasons when the certain away fans have had the BLUT (eg Millwall) - so where would all The blades off there sit?

So with that, and the added advantage it gives the opposition with the acoustics, then unless I'm missing summat here I don't see how it benefits us - more revenue from the away support = less from home fans?

What’s needed is a bit of imagination from the club, Price the BL upper correctly to fill it, a lot of people on the kop would move on there especially people with kids, I’m going to go up for burton game if possible just so I can see something for a change and possibly rest my old legs having stood up all season, next season I’m getting a ticket up there if the price is right...

Launch a Blades introductory scheme for the first time supporters, new season tickets at a flat rate of £100 for the year per seat no concessions, fill it and then option it for the second season with a £200 early bird deal, even if abused by current ST holders which would be the fear, we will have a full bl upper, we have to grow a following over a few seasons, they’re not going to appear out of thin air except for derby day..

Who wants 7000 away fans making it feel like a home game for the opposition ?

Good point made but then again have at look at Man City and Wolves - top level is all about cash, unfortunately.
Not many have the talent to achieve what Chris and Alan have.

Anyone that wanted a ticket for last night got one whether a Blade or QPR fan. When we do play "bigger" teams there is likely to be a larger demand from Blades fans as well. When we have played Villa, Sunderland, Leeds, Pigs (ie the teams that would bring 3000+) we have sold a considerable amount of the Upper tier to Blades which is surely better. Without expanding the ground there is no real incentive or need to give away fans a larger allocation.

(Just think stone into pond and stone into lake for wave concentration and dissipation).

Common sense says yes. SYP says no and a minimum of a 100 metre demilitarised exclusion zone between fans. Yet Man City and Leicester the other night for that matter make do with just a line of stewards. Not sure how facilities and exits would work splitting upper tier but we should look into it

I'd not thought of Blades going in the LT with away fans in the UT to be honest. One way to accommodate a bigger away crowd without denying Blades I suppose.

In which case segregate the central block too if we must.

There is absolutely no reason whatsoever we couldn't at least do that.

Entry and exit points are also easy to separate. Blades could enter/exit nearer the corner turnstiles. If it's OK now to have Blades on the corner and away fans in the lower tier it's OK to do that too.

Leeds United took 4,668 this season for the game on Sky.

We are losing out on revenue, would love to know the clubs position and what they intend to do (if anything) about it.
