I read exactly the same viewspoints from quite a few Derby fans when he got the push there.

Funny thing is NOW there isn't a single fan that would want him back.

I was really opposed to the idea of Morgs as manager. But Porter and Hill carry such weight, they've completely reassured me that Morgs's lack of experience, suitability, and tactical know-how can be cast aside as concerns.

I still am. It's just another knee jerk, emotional response with the heart ruling the head.

Apart from a few weeks in charge [which didn't exactly light up the league] he is totally inexperienced as a manager and his track record is none existent.

It's like the team itself, if you are going to bring in new players you should always try to make sure that they are better than what you've got. Clough might not have been everyone's cup of tea but there's no way you'd put Morgan ahead of Clough - if it wasn't Utd, if it was another team recruiting a new manager, how many would put Morgs in front of Clough. Very very few [if any] I'd wager.

We can't take the risk. As in business why would you? Surely we have to go for someone with a bit of clout. Some one with a sound track record in terms of developing teams and promotion, someone with some gravitas vis a vis his fellow professionals and with a tried and tested understanding of the transfer market.

For me if they appoint the likes of Morgs we could be here again by next Spring.

i reckon the board have made the right decision here.. i was all for giving him more time until (ironically.. seeing as i don't rate the guy) i heard about his treatment of Doyle which i thought was disgusting.

I heard something went off at the start of the season regarding the captain situation between Doyle, Collins and Butler. I think Butler arrived assuming he would be made captain and it all kicked off from there as Doyle and Collins questioned Clough about it.

I heard a similar story, a confrontation on the training pitch between Butler and Doyle, with a number of players siding with Doyle and Butler pretty much leaving BDTBL not long after
