He's a good player but we've got players as good as him and Brooks will be in the number 10 role soon enough. To be fair to Holmes it was Charloton not the player who made this deal impossible. They knew that without him they could't get promoted - its that simple. You can't replace a player like him when you're a League One team.

The player didn't sign

He's decided to carry on plying his trade in div 3

He's decided the Blades and the Championship aren't for him

So fk him.

I think it's time to move on and end this thread

Yes fuck the tadpole in the small pond

For me, he used us to get a more lucrative contract out of Charlton.
It was them that got screwed so apart from some wasted time, no skin of our nose.

We agreed a price but then his club raised it

We agreed a price but then his agent wanted a backhander

These are the new "fax wasn't working" excuses.
They can't use that one again can they

Let's take a moment to remember Ricky.

A newspaper article published this morning on Ricky Holmes on the Kent Live today site entitled “Sheffield United target wants to stay put at Charlton” has mysteriously been removed.

Anybody heard anything?

I managed to get this from the removed article.

Ricky Holmes admits he was flattered by interest from Sheffield United this summer but is more than happy to stay in League One with Charlton. The Addicks resisted a number of bids from the Blades for their midfield playmaker before persuading the 30 year old to put pen to paper on a new contract. Holmes showed just ...

I saw that the article had being removed. I can't see any renewed interest in Holmes but Kent Live do seem to love making the same point that Holmes is very settled at Charlton and it was a "no brainer" to sing his new contract in the summer, despite reports to the contrary!

its just copied and pasted from an article in the summer intended to get reactions, just a wind up

Robinson would just love to have Carruthers and Baldock on board for the rest of the season. Who knows?

You seem to know a lot about what managers are thinking these days. I’ll ask again for the laugh, how do you know this?

I seem to have been a 'manager' all my life LJ:). Common sense that's all.

What do you think? Just for a laugh??!!

I think I've no idea whether Karl Robinson would like Carruthers and Baldock for the rest of the season. I don't know Karl Robinson and I've never spoken to him. I know that both those players used to play for Robinson but the same can be said for a lot of players and I don't see you claiming the same about them.

I'd love Holmes to be honest, and all the summer stuff wasn't of his making but Robinson and their board. We also have Carrurthers, who Robinson would definitely take if offered and could soften the transfer fee. I reckon a fee of around 500,000 plus them taking Carrurthers could be worth a go but it probably depends on whether we get Ryan Kent.
