You are aware aren’t you that there’s a legal requirement for David Weir to be appointed assistant wherever Warburton manages? Don’t say you haven’t been warned.
TBF Weir may well be a very able assistant, in the same way that my missus is a very able navigator. It's when you let them behind the wheel that all hell breaks loose.

Strangley Chrissie isn't featuring much in the horses and riders list. Strange because, as an ex Southend player of note, he is one of our favourite sons. May be something to do with him not having a brilliant managerial career. Ron does like an established name so these are amongst the popular guesses:

Mark Warburton
Paul Lambert
Billy Davies
Simon Grayson

Warburton would be my choice but its starting to look as if he's going to stand by Brown until the end of the season when his contact finishes.

IMHO a good shout from the lower divisions would be Steve Evans at Mansfield. Obnoxious and not the most lovable, but has a proven track record in the lower divisions to turn things around. Will also court sponsorship from Greggs or any other local bakery?

The chances are that they will all swerve us in our current state, but it only takes a nod from Southend council (expected soon) and this will become a reality within two years. That may change some prospective candidates minds. Not as good as Roots Hall obviously.

I'd rather hang on to Phil Brown that have that gentleman anywhere near Southend. He features quite highly on my obnoxious arsehole list.

Is it my eyes or does at least half of that crowd seem to be made up of slender looking ladies in short skirts.

Perhaps the graphic designer is single

2 years to complete the stadium but 2 years is a long time in football.

Also I think a new manager would prefer a fresh start from the Summer.
Joining a club not that far from relegation is not an attractive proposition, it’s a risk and failure to stay up might not be their fault and they’d probably be sacked and/ or their reputation would suffer.

Suspect your Chairman will stuggle to attract even a half decent candidate, unless he offers a massive salary (which is unlikely) hence why the best option might be to keep Phil Brown until the end of the season. Then at least any new manager has a full pre-season.

Won't bore you with the club video of it, but fans walking up to the ground all appear to be doing the 'Peaky Blinders' walk.... well 'ard. That's designers for you. As for the young ladies with short skirts, the ground is in Essex and the Southend Bluebelles will have been strategically positioned around the ground.

I’d quite like to see this..

Triple signing to be announced later today?

We do tend to do all these things in one sitting to save McCabe turning the lights on multiple times a day.
It’s been postponed till tomorrow because every single member of the Stir and Radio Sheffield’s staff (including the char ladies) are currently otherwise engaged fawning around Lucky and Chancer at the Sty.

It’s important that they make the right impression to the new manager and leave him in no doubt where their loyalties lie. ;)

You’ve been on here long enough now mate to know better so unless it’s a pair of tits or something about Ryan Leonard can you take your stadium plans elsewhere please Rootshallbloke, somewhere like the ‘other football and sport’ section. :D

Given some of the opinions of the Southend faithful on here I reckon you will see loads of tits of the Southern variety in the vid. I just wish Lenny would hurry up and then all this bollocks will just be a distant memory.

It’s a very long medical, from Friday afternoon until Monday teatime and it’s still on going. Does the medical include jogging from Southend to Sheffield? :)

Currently sat at Sheffield station, awaiting his ride to BDTBL to put pen to paper, he said, when asked how he likes the station, "it was ok at first, on Saturday, by the afternoon though boredom had set in, and as the Tap doesn't sell Peroni, I feared for my life ordering a lesser tipple.
It was cold on the bench last evening, but the cheap Greg's at closing was nice, as was the breakfast pasty.
Hoping the car will arrive soon, as after 3 days/nights, you run out of thing to keep you occupied".

Hopefully the guy will get to put pen to paper soon.
