Given I've not read a post yet that says we should turn out our strongest possible team and have a good run in the Cup, the malaise seems to have spread into the Championship.
I think it's an unfortunate set of conditions for us. We've got our biggest home league game less than a week later and we hope to be challenging for a top six finish in the second half of the season. If it were any other league game up next, or we were floating around midtable, or even in Wolves' lofty position, I'd be wanting to progress and fancy a cup run. As it is, it's difficult to muster any enthusiasm for a tie against someone in the same division with all eyes on the derby next week and needing to get back in the habit of winning league games.

"it’s a chance for our excellent crop of Youths to perform on a bigger stage (as they ably showed against Palace in the Other Cup).
Then those who really shine can be incorporated in the first team. "
hahahahaha!
Playing right into our hands, let's pinch a couple of these excellent youths for our team.

Just been prepping the Pre match alehouses. Some good beer to be had in Ipswich in some decent ale houses. Adnams pub of the year opens at 1030 ( see you there), then there's two more linked to local breweries and The Fat Cat ( sister to the Norwich one not the Sheffield one). I reckon we will do at least 6 pubs and hopefully a few more if time allows.

It's like the Adkins days when the day out mattered more than the football.

Ps- If anyone local has some good recommendations I'm all ears. Decent ale in a decent pub please. Any bar with one name ending in the letter s is usually not a good sign.

I shall be in attendance with young Tom.

If any of you fools want to say hello just call out my name. "Hello - is it me you're looking for........."

“Being both reasonably safe at present and following a run of recent form which suggests that a shout for a play-off place is little more than a distant dream."

Not in S6 it isn't.

I thought Ipswich fans hated us? I hope we progress, but not at the risk of more injuries or playing a replay.

Ending in the letter S. You got one right.

Errr...

Whilst I agree Shakespeare's is a fantastic place, it will in my heart for ever be known as The Shakespeare and a place for a decent pint of Wards, a game of pool and a lock in.. like RIP The Nags Head, The Meadow and especially The Harlequin ( the proper one around the corner from The Manchester that is now for some reason called The Harlequin) all before their demolition and what is now The Riverside (Brown Cow I think). Not forgetting The Scarborough that's become a convenience store. To our family the pub is THE convenience store...!

A time when the Kelham ale quarter was just The Fat Cat, a couple of rundown Stones boozers and some traditional unaltered Wards houses. Then if not too late it was off to The Limit or R and B's Uptown bar for the singing... not everything about progress has seen progression...

If we play Blackman and Whiteman in the same team you can be certain that Trevor at the FA will instigate a full enquiry ........ ably supported and aided by a fat, thick, jellied-eel munching prat !!:rolleyes:
