Pigs and Leeds also apparently interested in him. In terms of money, I don't think we can compete with them so writing this one off

Bollocks.

Leeds aren’t that much bigger in terms of budget and attractiveness as a club. Pigs....well they are shit and in relegation trouble IMHO.
So as a player going on LOAN....perhaps hoping to get the chance of a permananet deal to a side going to the premier league, which one of those three has the best chance?
For me it’s United. Leeds are inconsistent at best even when on good form, while we are up there and beginning to find some form again after losing the main man with a TOP manager.

As far as the player is concerned he gets paid the same wherever he goes.

All about opinions buddy

Loan or no loan, when Boro ask prospective clubs to fork out the largest percentage of his wages, my view is we won't be able to compete

As for who has the best chance of promotion, at the moment it's Leeds as they are in the top 6 and we are not. But I don't think that will matter for the player, as I think Boro would want Clayton to go to Wendy because they are not a promotion contender to Boro, where as Leeds and we are

Like I say, just my opinion and we'll see. Will gladly hold my hands up if I'm wrong

But if you were Boro, which club do you see as the least threat? If he signs for us or Leeds, he could quite easily help keep Boro outside the top 6

Is it what we need? I'd say creativity and clever final third play is what we need.

Lundstarm, Basham, Whiteman, Fleck, Lafferty can all do the deeper bit.

We need assists!! and goals would be nice!!
So Clayton is the one and only player we are looking at?

Very good player but even though I don’t know what our budget will be I’m pretty sure he’s going to be way out of it, unless Boro pay about 60 to 70% of his wages.

Not happening!

I haven't a clue, I hope not.

How about you?

I'm not the one that made any comment on Clayton. I am of the belief that if a better player than you currently have can be signed within budget, they should be signed.

Only if it's in a position we need to improve within the 24 man squad. There are priorities of course within the squad. e.g. one striker, two creative midfielders IMO. There are many other opinions and valid ones too. Only Wilder's counts.
