Corrected myself. :)

We rarely test the keeper from corners and most of the time we turn over possession as well.

That’s true of 90% of the teams in any league. The vast majority of corners and free-kicks don’t result in chances, let alone goals.

Most teams struggle with throw-ins as well (the phrase really ought to be throws-in but I’m no pedant) just to address another old chestnut.

.....and it’s still not right. :D

We don’t create anywhere near enough on corners and we have some decent height in the squad.

Eight or nine big lads in the current first-choice team. The delivery is better now than in many previous years but Jack the Hat and Bash in particular tend to produce headers on goal more like defence clearances.

Stears showed how to do it from Duff’s free-kick but he’s done little at attacking corners either.

It needs to improve but, as I’ve said elsewhere, we’re not unique in this respect and fans up and down the leagues will be bemoaning their corner productivity just the same.

I am just saying we should be doing better from our corners. I don't expect us to get 13 goals from 13 corners.

Yes, we should, I agree, but there’s nothing unique about us in that respect.

I wouldn’t know for certain but I’m pretty sure we have more corners than any other team in the league, hence we should be doing better than other teams on them.

I wouldn’t know either. I appreciate it’s not your job anymore than it is mine, but what should we do to improve? I’m pretty sure that a coach (and defender) of One Knill’s quality will have worked tirelessly on this?

That’s what’s surprising me the most, we’ve been good and well drilled on other set pieces but seem to struggle on corners for some reason.

I don’t know why we do those floaty corners, I suggest we whip it in more just for starters. A whipped in delivery only needs a touch and it’s in, the floaty ones you have to actually create your own power and time the jump better, that’s why we look like we have a team full of tenbob heads on our corners. Anyway, what the fuck do I know! :)

My point is that we had more shots at goal, more on target and they were just as tame as their efforts but they showed theirs and not ours.

I’m not bothered if Sky are biased or not, I couldn’t give a flying fuck but the highlights on this occasion didn’t reflect the game I watched.

They often don't mate. It's a few seconds of highlights not a 15 minute condensed rerun.

I've seen highlights that have made our performance look better than it was.

Pretty much, I was looking at this earlier. Only Brentford win more corners per game than us but we rank 18th in the league at set piece goals. Couldn’t find anywhere that split that out into corners and freekicks but from memory we’ve only scored once from a corner this season.

Lead the league in goals from open play, mind.

Great stuff isn’t it?! Jordan Rhodes point blank header straight at their keeper was another highlight on a wonderful video of several highlights!
Did you notice his reaction too ? he hardly seemed gutted to have missed it did he ? :D

Tis true - if anyone cares to look up the stats, 2-2.5% of all corners (in the EFL/Prem) end in a goal.

You are indeed right now I’ve thought about it, I just think it’s crap that they show all their tame efforts and none of ours, infact I demand a statement. :)

Also our strikers seem to get fouled constantly and we seem to get something from about 1 in 5 such instances. Sharp in particular is very good at getting to the ball but he never gets a fair crack at it (because he's short I suspect) for all holding, shoving etc and that's why he's starting to look ineffective.

Their man deffo fouled Baldock first. Baldock had his body in front of him. There’s no way he could have got in front of Baldock without fouling him.

My take – Baldock makes an error in judgment thinking he could shield it off the pitch when it was never going to happen, it’s nicked off him, and he then adds to the error by panicking with a clumsy challenge. Penalty all day long. He recovered well from that though and had a decent game thereafter.

Their man clearly pulled Baldock to one side so he could get past.

I do agree regards him trying to shield it way too far from the byline though.

Well played yesterday, we (Derby) were lucky to get a point out of that game. That is the worst I have seen us play since our good run of form and I was surprised by how well you played based on your recent run of form. After that game I can see why you are around the playoffs.

I think your performance could have something to do with your players having one eye on the cup game on Friday against Man Utd, that and us being a better side than a lot of people give us credit for.

I appreciate your comments Mr Ram.

I didn’t see it like that my friend.

Hi Derby fan here, I've been struggling to work out how you've had a pretty poor run of results because both games we've played you you've been baring wolves the best team we've played all season, we didn't deserve a point yesterday it was a very odd day but we couldn't cope with your play at times, very well organised team that can still play very good attacking football! I sure wouldn't want you guys in the play offs (if we both make it) for me your stand out man was Donaldson is it? He caused us hell most of the game! Good fans aswell Good luck for the rest of season!

We have been unlucky!

You get the impression that refs are just dying to give a free kick in the defences favour, and not just against our corners, (in the interests of balance).
