Does his contract expire in six months? If so he definitely needs tieing down for another 12 months. Can only assume he wants longer but Wilder unwilling to accommodate, especially as he has obvious doubts about his fitness as he usually hauls him off after 65 minutes.

I hope we see an extension very soon. I don't mind how long it is, just keep this fantastic, sublime, top end Championship player in our football club a little while longer please Mr Wilder.
We've just [deservedly] given Leon 2 more years, why not Mark as well?

Got to be to 2020.

Very important to us and that will give us enough time to sort a reliable replacement out. It certainly is NOT Samir.

Club talking to Duffy over an extension.

I for one doubted whether he could do it at this level, but have been happily proven wrong, as along with Clarke he’s been our stand out performer.
Actually reckon if he could add goals to his game he’d be a premier league player

I love him too, and I think it's baffling that he hasn't had an even better career. But I think a year's extension would be the best option for the club. While we should be grateful for what this set of players have done for us we should be careful about giving long contracts to players who are at that age. It has held us back in the past. New contracts should be part of future plan, not a reward for things already achieved.

I know what you mean, but it should be a bit of both. Wilder suggested that earlier in the season and reiterated that the Clarke contract wasn’t just with a look to the future but also a reward for his contribution. I would certainly give Duffy an extra year, and wouldn’t be against the sort of deal we’ve given Clarke either if we wanted to give him a moderate wage with the extra year.

If he'd been playing CAM all his career he'd probably be playing in the Prem by now.
Seriously sublime footwork and good strength for a little man.

Think he's spent most of his career on the wing and 'No.10' is his best position.

Exactly this. All we need now is for the Jakie boys and the Billy boys to pipe up and we will have 4x 35 year olds on our books in a few years time earning a couple of million a year between them. Which of course is fucking ludicrous.

Great player but I think it would be a mistake giving him more than an extra year. We already have Leon signed up until he's 35. We're creating problems for ourselves down the line. Duffy seems like the kind of player who would make a good coach, so maybe something to think about.

After the last 18 months, Mark James Duffy could walk into my house on christmas morning, piss on the presents, shit on the cat and then vigorously pleasure himself in front of the living room mirror, and when he was done all I would say would be...

"Welcome to my humble abode sir, do you take red or white wine, or maybe a peroni?"

Get him a new deal, he is a sublime footballer and we are very lucky to have him.

Sorry but a disagree , yes age has some set backs but its all about the desire of the player , does he want to play for the club , does he want to play for the manager , does he want to put the red and white shirt on , with age comes experience , yes you need younger players but its good to have a mixture of youth and older end .

Of course it depends on fitness, but it's a huge risk. Leon is currently showing he's as fit as anyone. Duffy is always subbed and last season was struggling to make 60 minutes by the last few games. That's not going to improve.

Mate he's one of the best players we have , 60 mins of Duff is better than 90 mins of Carruthers , in those 60 mins he gives his all , always showing for the ball , sliding balls for the front 2 , you really must watch a different match to me , Duff is a brill player and we need to keep him .

Give him a new 2 and a half year deal. He's well worth it.

Don't see a problem myself, but contract talks and TWs are always a nervous time
