It seems before Tuesday night's victory, no one was even mentioning us and promotion in the same sentence.

It appears that yesterday has rattled the Birmingham fans somewhat, despite them claiming we're going to leak points like a sieve from now on and they aren't right bothered by us:

http://www.smallheathalliance.com/

after what happened over the tevez affair their does seem to be a conspiracy to get them back up at any cost. what happened up at bramall lane was a blatant act of cheating. and morgan was let off the hook for crippling iain hume with his elbow.

First goal against us at their place was a mile offside.... and then the next game at Cov they were credited with a goal that was so not over the line and impossible to judge anyway..I also predicted that Cardiff would have a player sent off... It's as if every last 70-30 decision is being given to them, under orders from the FA

Take a picture of ceefax Pigs, you won't be 2nd for long

Wolves have noticed us too:

I think United would have a lot of goodwill from the neutrals if they make it up, due to fallout from the Tevez affair, a lot of people will be willing them on and the media will be giving them a lot of attention. Could work in our favour to have less focus on us. Plus, if it were to be us and united in the automatic spots, that means that at least two out of Cardiff, Reading and Blues would miss out on promotion altogether and would leave a few decent players looking for transfers in the summer.

Where the hell did United come from, that has really shaken things up.

They also have a fairly easy finish to the season. Forest (h) Burnley (a) Swansea (h) Palace (a). Burnley is their toughest one and compares with our Derby fixture.

I reckon they'll go up for sure. The issue is whether Brum can catch us up.

sheffutd winning was the worst result which could of occured yesterday imo

Wolves and Sheffield United battling it out for Premier League honours - I've seen how this movie ends.

Some Cardiff fans would like us out of the way:

Sheffield U are the form team, if they get 2nd then IMO that is no bad thing.

Play offs will be

Brum V Burnley

Cardiff v reading

Burnley, Preston and Reading do not scare me. I would be quite confident playing Reading actually. I think their confidence has taken a knock. Sheff Utd pose a bigger threat to us with their physical demeanour, and so I would be happier to see them out of the way. Birmingham are a funny side though. Physical but not entirely quick. I still think I would prefer Brum over Sheff Utd.

Burnley fans can't make their minds up whether they want us to go up automatic or not, but I'm not linking to crappy Footymad boards so you'll have to take my word for that one.

The general consensus seems to be that we're crap... but the majority wouldn't want to face us in the play offs. I've read the words "physical" time and time again without a nod to the fact that half our team are as soft as bunnies (Naughts, Wardy, Halford, Killa, Cotts).

They seem to think we have no quality because we grind out wins but that we have a solid defence.

All of them are saying we'll lose points against Forest, Swansea, Burnley and Palace.

No team is looking anything special at the moment.

We are not either although at the moment we are getting that bit of luck and grinding out results at the right time. Which is getting every other team around us worried as they are dropping points against teams they should be beating.

Last night on Sky Sports, the news bar mentioned Reading had remained in 4th position, but amazingly nothing about Utd moving up to second, so not everyone is recognising our climb. I think the Sky commentators were gutted really about the result and how we played. Their script read along the lines of 'Reading are a footballing team with class players against a side of big northern brutes' not that I am anything other than objective of course.

I had SSN last night and the woman said Birmingham remain 5 points behind Wolves, oh and Sheff Utd have climbed above them on goal difference. Why not just say we're 5 points behind Wolves!!!!

We have slipped in nicely to the promotion race undetected, and that is good enough for me.

Its been like a long distance race where we have broken free of the pack and are now giving the pacesetters a run for their money

I like the fact that we are still seen as the underdogs, the longer it stays that way the better... we all know how biased BBC, SSN and all the other channels are towards southern clubs

The Birmingham fans are complaining about today.

It keeps us chasing and keeps the pressure on them. They reckon we'll lose points against Burnley, Swansea and Palace but they don't seem to want to focus on the fact that they have to play:

Plymouth... who won 4-0 today

Watford

Preston

Reading

Not exactly easy games to call.

I've said it before, both sheffield teams are heavily penalised against, on sky etc, sky sports commentry is shocking, and I only hope we go up to the prem for fans zone, because i prefer listening to that, than the dickheads who commentate on sky. I used to think I was been paranoid until more people pointed it out.

McLeish is whinging because we've got an extra day's rest before Monday.

We did alright with two days less to prepare for the Reading game did we not?
I don't recall Blackie whinging like a bullied school-girl do you?

That's bang on. Plus we didn't ask for the game to be on sky did we!

The Cardiff fans are whinging that Wednesday won't give them the whole Leppings Lane end for their last match of the season.

Want to use their "legal powers" to get Wednesday to change their mind.

Erm yeah... since when have United gone marauding around Selhurst Park, running pitched battles against anyone we find?

Not for a very long time. Which is why Palace are happy to accommodate us.

When were the last time Cardiff caused trouble in Sheffield.

Let me think... oh yeah... last time they were here. Which is why the piggies aren't exactly rolling out the red carpet.

Horrible bastards. I'd love to know who they think they are.

The Welsh FA may intervene and help them blag some more tickets.

The piggies, who are desperate for the cash, have decided to only sell tickets to people on their database for that match.

I don't think Cardiff will get any more because I don't think the rozzers will allow it.

McLeish is whinging because we've got an extra day's rest before Monday.

I dont suppose he has mentioned how they will have two more days rest before the Saturday fixture away at Preston, I think, when we are at home to Swansea!!!

I'd be very surprised if the rozzers did allow it, given that it could all go tits up and the Pigs could slot us up into the Prem. Given Cardiff's past record I'd be very surprised if they didn't kick off after such an event. Having 8,000 of them at Hillsborough wouldn't be a great idea.

This is something that all the Cardiff fans seem to have forgotten - that even if the final match does send one of us up, there are no guarantees that they'll win it.
