They are like us in so much as the media hate us both, we don't fit the mould of a "massive club" the premier league upper echelon will be hoping we don't go up only club's like Sunderland, villa etc in their eyes are good enough to grace their league, the wet spam saga with Tevez proved that so many of the other clubs would have had points deducted, rant over

I saw a program a while back where a bloke had neurosurgery, a proper lads lad, into football, etc, think he was a builder or something. When he woke up he was gay and went on to become a hairdresser.

Full on gay as well, not just another bloke, fully kitted out gay.

This really is nonsense, particularly of late when Wilder gets a lot of good coverage. Negative media coverage where it’s happened in the past has largely been Warnock-related, occasional biased lard-arse :fattwat:, and other external factors, rather than being intrinsically linked to the club itself. I’ve never felt “the media” have hated the club.

I enjoyed that, it’s good to see that not everything must change, if there had been a paper ‘View From’ in the 70’s my guess is that it’d have read pretty much the same.

I’m surprised that he didn’t mention that the Lane is the oldest professional football stadium in the world though. GERRRRCHA!

Also, lived in Sheffield and it was done out of warm feelings to the place & team.

As said before,I like the Blades, went to a few games when I lived there, and they were a lot like us - mostly working class, passed the club down through the generations, rain or shine, saw the humour in being shit and didn't take it all that seriously, but passionately got behind their team and could create a very partisan atmosphere.

In contrast to Wednesday - who I found to be supported by more middle-class types from the suburbs, who really did think their shit didn't stink and believed the likes of Millwall & Sheffield United were below them, despite being bang average for the last 50 years. I call them the Crystal Palace of the north!

Very good. The A-Z is obviously intended to be humorous so isn't going to be entirely factually correct, in the same way Dem Blades isn't. Clearly they don't really think all you can get is John Smiths etc, it's a joke.

Posted this blog on a few Facebook sites and was surprised at how angry people are by the A-Z. I found it funny and saw parallels with the Dem Blades blog too.

Some people can be very humourless unfortunately. They probably watch Batman films and say 'that wunt 'appen in real life'.
